Three Moose Jaw Warriors have been named to the NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings ahead of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft presented by Upper Deck. Lynden Lakovic is ranked #14, Aiden Ziprick is ranked #162, and Connor Schmidt is ranked #213.
Emergency sewer repair leads to road closure in northwest Moose Jaw
Residents and motorists are being advised that emergency sewer and water repairs on the 1100 block of 13th Avenue NW have necessitated the street's closure. The City of Moose Jaw states that the closure will be in effect today and tomorrow and asks the public to keep a safe distance from the construction zone while work is taking place.

Inflation cooled to 2.3% in March as gas prices fell, StatCan says
Canadians got a break on inflation in March as gas prices fell and a slowdown in travel to the United States helped cool airfare costs, Statistics Canada said Tuesday.
The annual rate of inflation slowed to 2.3 per cent last month, down from 2.6 per cent in February. A poll provided by LSEG Data & Analytics ahead of Tuesday’s release had expected yearly inflation to hold steady month-to-month.
StatCan said gas prices fell 1.6 per cent year-over-year in March, coming off a hike of 5.1 per cent in February.

Mechanical issues persist, City cancels school bus runs
The City of Moose Jaw is notifying residents that due to ongoing repairs, all school bus runs conducted by the City of Moose Jaw are cancelled for the day.

Sask Selects camps hitting the road this spring
Instead of athletes having to drive a long distance, the Sask Selects Football Program is bringing their camps to the players for 2025.
Throughout May, June, and July, the Sask Selects will hold camps in 11 locations: Saskatoon, Regina, Medicine Hat, Weyburn, Estevan, Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, Moosomin, Melville, Outlook, and Swift Current.
"Everybody kind of overlooks those smaller communities, so we're going to make a concerted effort to go and find those diamonds in the rough," said Coach Zeljko of the Sask Selects.
Nature events with Wild About Moose Jaw this weekend, including black bears, Crocus walk
Wild About Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw Nature Society have events coming up this weekend and on April 26, including a presentation on co-existing with black bears and moose, an annual Crocus Walk out at Buffalo Pound, and a pollinator garden seed exchange at the Moose Jaw Public Library (MJPL).
“We don’t have the opportunity to see large creatures in and around Moose Jaw,” said Rich Pickering, president of the Moose Jaw Nature Society and a member of Wild About Moose Jaw.

Acting police chief Rick Johns commented on two recent successful investigations completed by the Moose Jaw Police Service that resulted in arrests.
In late March, the Moose Jaw Police Service received multiple complaints about a “grandparent scam,” including more than 30 complaints in a single day.
