Despite rising costs, Moose Javians still love to head south in the winter
Despite inflation, an industry still in recovery from a global pandemic, and the rising cost of travel, Moose Jaw residents are still flying south in numbers for a much-needed break from Saskatchewan’s winter months.

Rilen Kovacevic scored two goals and Josh Banini stopped 43 shots but, it wasn't enough as the Raiders outscored the Moose Jaw Warriors 6-3 in Prince Albert last night.
The Warriors will attempt to break their 4-game losing skid Friday night as they play host to the Medicine Hat Tigers who beat the Saskatoon Blades 6-4 last night.
The Winmar AAA Warriors head to Regina tonight to take on the Pat Canadians. A win would put Moose Jaw into sole possession of first place in the Sask Male Triple "A" Hockey League.

High school Junior Girls basketball last night, Central beat Lumsden 73-11, and it was Vanier over Peacock 49-23.
Junior Boys, Lumsden dominated with a 100-23 win over Peacock Orange.
In Futsal yesterday, the Excelsior FC under 18 boys beat U-16 Excelsior FC 7-4.

Riley Thorpe scored the big goal Friday night for the Teddy Bear Toss as the Moose Jaw Warriors took on the visiting Swift Current Broncos, but the celebration was short-lived as the Broncos held on for a 3-2 victory over the Warriors.
The Warriors head to Prince Albert tomorrow to play the Raiders, with puck drop at 7 p.m.
One arrest in relation to Coronach man's death; one still sought
The Saskatchewan RCMP say that Jeremy Whitebear has been arrested in relation to the death of 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder from Coronach.
Lonethunder was located deceased in a residence on White Bear First Nation by Carlyle RCMP early on Dec. 3, after they received a report of an injured individual, and his death was considered suspicious.
RCMP then released a statement on Dec. 5 that they were looking for 22-year-old Jeremy Whitebear and 26-year-old Dwayne Maxie, both from White Bear First Nation, in relation to the death of Lonethunder.
Holiday Train makes stop in Moose Jaw
The CPKC Holiday Train held its annual show in the train yard on Manitoba Street on Saturday afternoon.
The Mother Teresa Middle School Buffalo Boys opened the show, with artists Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish performing for the crowd.
Others on the stage included Moose Jaw Wakamow MLA Megan Patterson, Mayor James Murdock, Terri Smith from the Moose Jaw & District Food Bank, Tim Wonsiak with the Moose Jaw Co-op, and Gabi Belanger with CPKC.
It’s Global Fat Bike Day on Saturday
Jennifer Gauthier, a local cyclist, is inviting people interested in fat bikes to Boh’s Cycle on Saturday afternoon.
“A fat bike has wide tires – 3.8 inches or wider. My fat bike is 4.6 inches,” explained Gauthier.
