OPP remove $7,500 worth of methamphetamine, cocaine, and psilocybin from streets of Sioux Lookout
Two Sioux Lookout individuals were arrested for drug trafficking and weapons-related offences.
At approximately 11:00 pm on July 25, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers with the Sioux Lookout Detachment investigated a suspicious vehicle parked at a local recreational area on Third Avenue North.
Doctors say lack of communication on epidural shortage 'frustrating'
A shortage of epidural tubes used to provide pain medication primarily during labour and delivery is affecting most provinces, but supply issues seem to be worse in Western Canada, says the vice-president of the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society.
Dr. Lucie Filteau said "murmurings" of a shortage of the tubes, or catheters, began recently on a private online page of about 300 anesthesiologists across the country.
Matheson Street is closed once again for more clean up work
The City of Kenora would like to advise the public that a portion of Matheson Street will be closed today to allow crews to clean up the Hungry Pug site.
Matheson Street South between Second Street South and Third Street South will be closed today until 4:30 pm.

Storms, heavy rainfall in the long weekend forecast
Environment Canada says we won’t see much relief from the rain this August Long Weekend.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Steven Filsfeder says a storm system is already hitting the region, and more storm activity can be expected throughout the weekend.
“The rain showers are on our doorstep. As we go through the next couple of days, tonight is when we’ll see the most active showers and thunderstorms. There could be some locally heavy downpours, up to 25 mm in the heaviest-hit areas.”
Two Dryden youth arrested following an attempted armed robbery
An armed robbery attempt leads to the arrest of two Dryden youth.
At approximately 8:45 pm on July 25, Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint from an employee at a business on Government Street of an alleged robbery attempt with a weapon.

Trans-Canada reopens at Deacon's Corner following serious collision
Traffic is flowing once again for motorists along a busy intersection east of Winnipeg on Wednesday morning.
According to Manitoba Infrastructure, the westbound lanes of Highway 1 had been closed at Highway 207, also known as Deacon's corner, following the collision after 4 a.m.
The closure cause significant delays for commuters who rerouted northbound down Highway 207 to get to the Perimeter Highway and into Winnipeg during the morning rush hour.
Byers-Kitt announces bid for Mayoral race
Two new candidates have submitted their names for the next municipal election, one in Dryden and one in Kenora.
In Kenora, it was announced that David Byers-Kitt will be running for Office of the Mayor.
Byers-Kitt will be running alongside Andrew Poirier and Andy Scribilo who are also running for the job.
