Introducing the NEW Winkler Fabrics Plus!

For Lisa Wolfe, a love of sewing first began when she was a girl.

“I’ve always been interested in fabric. I used to sew Barbie clothes by hand – just little things. When I was in my early 20s I started sewing small, simple things. But I’ve really upped my game in the last ten years, sewing as much as possible.”

So when the opportunity to purchase Winkler Fabrics presented itself, she and her husband jumped on it.

“It was very spur-of-the-moment, and it worked out!”

Clearview Co-op continues to fuel their community with new Ste. Anne Food Store

Clearview Co-op celebrated their newest Food Store’s Grand Opening this last week in Sainte Anne, and the response from the community has been remarkable.

While construction began back in 2023, Clearview Co-op Senior Manager Gavin Walls shares that onlookers were gathering almost daily to check on the progress.

“We had to keep leading people off the site to keep the area safe as a construction zone,” he laughs. "People were just so excited- it was a really good problem for us to have!”

SPONSORED: Social Media

Social media has emerged as a powerful tool for individuals experiencing intellectual disabilities, offering numerous positive impacts that enhance their quality of life and promote inclusion.

One significant benefit is the opportunity for social connection. Platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram enable users to connect with friends, family, and support networks, fostering a sense of belonging and reducing feelings of isolation.

Arcola Co-op prioritizes customer experience and community connection

These are exciting times for Arcola Co-op. In June, it acquired Arcola Building Supplies Ltd., and it recently added a liquor section to the Gas Bar as part of a broader facility makeover.

Something that hasn’t changed amidst the business’s growth, however, is its commitment to a welcoming, customer-centred shopping experience.

Work & Play Your Winter Away

Winter is on its way… FINALLY.

Rather than spending your winter staring at the thermostat and reminiscing about your last sunburn, get outside with Avenue Honda Polaris.

This business has been family-run for almost 45 years, specializing in powersport, utility, and lawn and garden vehicles. Owner Kirk Gyselinck is proud to note that the community turns to Avenue not only before hitting the trails, but also for increasing productivity and efficiency on their acreages and farms.

Swift Current Fire Department reflects on exciting Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week takes place nationwide every October, and each year, the Swift Current Fire Department (SCFD) team finds unique ways to spread awareness throughout the community. This typically includes demonstrations and presentations at K-8 schools, but this year, they took it a step further.

Partnering with MacMor Industries and Domino’s Pizza, the SCFD made some special deliveries across town during Fire Prevention Week, October 6th to 12th.

Giving back to the community, one delicious coffee at a time!

“Coffee is for us is a lifestyle. There's no child born, there is no wedding, there is no graduation – even there is no funeral – without a coffee ceremony.”

Yonas Gebre was born and raised on a coffee farm in Ethiopia’s Sidamo region, considered to be the birthplace of the beverage.

“Every morning, my mom used to roast the coffee for my dad, and that sound was my alarm clock,” he laughs. “Every morning she roasted, she ground, she brought in the clay pot, and she served my dad with that little cup. It is amazing. It is beautiful. It is our ritual.”
