Darlene (Alma) Bull

November 16, 1951 - April 30, 2025

Darlene Bull passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in Estevan, Saskatchewan at the age of 73 years. Born on November 16, 1951, in Fort Qu’ Appelle, Saskatchewan. Darlene was a loving and devoted mother, a loyal friend and a kind-hearted soul whose warmth touched everyone she met.

A private family memorial will take place on July 4, 2025 at Lipton Memorial Garden.

Leonard Rye Obituary

1929 ~ 2025 (age 96)

It is with profound sadness that the family of Leonard Rye announce his

passing on Sunday, May 4th, 2025 at the age of 96.

Beloved husband of the late Madeline Rye;

loving father of Linda (Don) Yaskow, Lucille (Richard) Layton, Clarence (Myrna) Rye,

Sandra (Kirby) Goldsmith, and Darwin Rye;

cherished grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 19.

At Leonard's request there will be no service.

Edgar Oscar Matthes, late of Stoughton, SK, passed away on May 3, 2025. Ed was born and resided most of his life in Winnipeg. He was 71 years.

Edgar was predeceased by mother, Elfriede.

Edgar is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; his son, Ron Matthes; daughter, Jennifer
Matthes (Ian Gold) [Orion, Violet]; brothers, Edwin Matthes, Gordon Matthes; his niece and nephew, Jeremy and Danielle.

Jeffrey Charles Andrew Hall
January 20, 1959 – April 23, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Cheryl Thorson. Cheryl left us on April 30, 2025, at the age of 60. She was raised in the Eastleigh District, south of Mortlach, SK, with her parents, Dorothy and George, and her siblings, Heather and Blaine. During the era of neon colours, shoulder pads, and big hair, Cheryl met her husband Peter at a dance, where they were introduced twice by two different people.

Werner Stark

Werner Stark passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 3, 2025 at the Assiniboia Union Hospital Integrated Care Facility at the age of 95.  Exactly, 1 year after the passing of his dear wife, Irene.

Werner was born in the Valor District to Rudolf and Pauline Stark.  He was the third of four boys – Rudy, Harry and later Norman.  Werner was their first child born in Canada.  Soon after, the family moved to the “Home Place” Southeast of Mossbank where Norman was born.

Elma Poetker nee Elias, 90, of Steinbach formerly of New Bothwell, passed away Saturday, May 3rd at Rest Haven Care Home. She is survived by her husband Jacob, 3 daughters, 2 sons, and their families. She was predeceased by 1 daughter, 3 sons, and 3 great-grandchildren. 
The funeral service for Elma Poetker nee Elias will be held Friday, May 9th at 11am at Bothwell Christian Fellowship Church with burial at Silberfeld CMC Cemetery. 
Viewing will be at the church one hour prior to the service. 

Douglas Ross Hillrud, late of Ceylon, SK passed away on May 4, 2025 at the age of 84 years.

Ross was predeceased by his parents, Chris and Eva Hillrud; brother, Henry Hillrud; mother and father-in-law, Ted and Irene Leedy; brothers-in-law, Edwin Rowland, Ken Dinwoodie and Brian Sweeney.

Ross is survived by his wife, Gayle of 54 years; daughter, Marla (Darcy McPhee) and children,

The Celebration of Life Service for Diana Andrews of Swift Current will take place on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 2:00 pm from the St. Stephens Anglican Church in Swift Current with Rev. Sheperd Munzara officiating.
