Best West to celebrate new location with storewide sale, Charity BBQ

They hadn’t planned on holding a re-opening celebration this month, but on September 24th Best West Pet Foods will invite the public to explore their new location at 336 Main St. in Steinbach – the former Video Max across from Giant Tiger. 

It was a move necessitated by the July Main St. fire that devastated several local businesses. And while they’re still applying some finishing touches, the Best West staff are looking forward to seeing some friendly faces – and familiar pets – at the event.

Canadian Tire Celebrates 100 Years with more great sales

A full century is a long time for any business to stick around, so it’s no wonder that Canadian Tire is doing it up right.

Reyn Kroeker from Canadian Tire in Steinbach says the staff had a great time decorating the store.

“We did go the whole nine yards with the balloons, it was a fun time for us!”

Times have changed since the first Canadian Tire store opened its doors in 1922, and the franchise has come a long way over the past ten decades.

Motorists passing Victoria Plaza on Brandt Street can’t help but notice a new pharmacy has arrived.  

Scott Penner shares his story, and what led to his decision to open a Pharmasave location in Steinbach.   

“I grew up in Kleefeld and Steinbach,” reveals Penner. “I went to the SRSS, graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Pharmacy in 1992, then lived in southern Ontario for about 25 years. Just three years ago, I moved back to be closer to family here and many of my longtime friends and colleagues.” 

Morris RCMP officer assaulted with weapon in Lowe Farm, police thank public for help

On September 14, at approximately 10:05 am, Morris RCMP responded to a disturbance in Lowe Farm.

It was reported that a male was walking on the road, screaming and smashing vehicles with a metal bar on Main Street.

Several officers immediately headed to the scene.

RCMP search for culprits in drive-thru incident

Steinbach RCMP is looking for some angry fast food customers.

On August 28th, RCMP received a report of a disturbance at the McDonald’s on Highway 12 in Steinbach.

According to police, four individuals in a red 2016 Ford Focus with a Manitoba licence plate KUN721 became disgruntled at a staff member. A Caucasian male in his twenties threw an item at the McDonald’s employee before telling the driver to drive off.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 AM on August 28th, 2022.
