We have a very busy weekend coming up in the southeast. There are many fun events and fundraisers that you can attend, and we will be at five of them! 

Friday, May 31 

Kicking off the weekend with the grand opening for La Boutique des Chenes at the Villa Youville (15 Charriere RD, Ste Anne) from 1pm-4pm. 

Car enthusiasts gather for the 3rd annual 'Car Show on the Ridge'

Woodridge had its 3rd annual ‘Car Show on the Ridge’ on Sunday, May 26. The original date was planned for Saturday, but due to weather conditions, it was decided to have it the following day.  

It was a beautiful day to be outside and see some awesome cars, trucks, semis, and so much more. From new to old they had it all, and every single one was unique.

Cars, trucks, bikes, and more at the 2024 Car Show on the Ridge in Woodridge, MB.  

The Woodridge community is hosting the 3rd annual car show on Sunday, May 26, and we are so excited to be there. 

Funds from the car show will be donated to Woodridge Community Club and the Woodridge Firefighters Association.

Strong Town hosts first Family Bike Jam of the season

It was the perfect day to be outside and community members of all ages met at E.A. Friesen Park for a fun bike ride.  

LaBikequerie and Strong Towns joined forces to put on a fun, monthly outing for the community during the summer months. 

Wade Wiebe, a member of both groups, speaks about their goal and why Strong Towns has decided to put on this event.  

May Long activities including family bike ride and Victoria Day hours for Steinbach businesses

On Sunday, May 19, we will be at the Family Bike Jam, hosted by Strong Towns Steinbach. 

The ride begins at E.A. Friesen Park and will start at 3pm for approximately two hours. 

One of the organizers, Wade Wiebe says, “We organize it to get folks off their screens and it’s a great excuse to get outside with your family.”

Fun-filled Saturday at MHV for the annual Manitoba Day celebration

The community gathered to celebrate Manitoba’s 154th birthday at the Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV) on Saturday, May 11.  

The day began with planting a pansy for mom, hosted by the Steinbach and Area Garden Club.  

Greetings from the program manager, Robert Goertzen took place in the Pavilion. MP Ted Falk, MLA Kelvin Goertzen, and Mayor Earl Funk shared stories of their family coming to Manitoba and the importance of celebrating Manitoba’s Birthday in Steinbach.  

Cultures, sweet corn and a new season: MHV Fall on the Farm in photos

Community members from southeast Manitoba and beyond welcomed fall at the Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV) on the September long weekend. 

The annual Fall on the Farm festival returned with demonstrations, activities, food and live entertainment. Executive Director Gary Dyck says they host the event as it allows learning and improves “well-being.”

Festivities in every direction were the scenes in Ste. Anne during the September long weekend.  

The annual Dawson Trail Days took place at Redemptoriste Park from Friday, September 1, to Saturday, September 2. Ste. Anne’s Recreational Services Manager, Sarah Normandeau, says they “couldn’t ask for a better day.”  

Golden Ticket holder wins trailer at summer wrap-up party Thursday evening

Wendy’s Show Us Your Summer ended Thursday with a significant win at Steinbach Trailers and RV.

Congratulations to Kiera Gauthier whose lucky Golden Ticket was drawn in front of a crowd of hundreds.

Kiera's first words after hearing she won the Gulf Stream Trailmaster Lite Camper RV were, "I'm so excited! I'm going to use it this weekend."

Kiera had a large cheering section with her including her mother, aunt, boss, and co-worker. 

Her description of her new trailer, "Oh, it's so cute!"
