And the Answer Is...

Exodus 4:1–10

But Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” (Exodus 4:10)

"But Lord," Moses was saying, "I can't be Your spokesman in this situation. Why, I wouldn't have any answers when those guys started firing questions at me."

Monitoring Winter Feeding Sites for Invasive Weeds

An important part of your winter-feeding plan is monitoring your wintering sites for weeds to prevent the establishment of undesirable plants. As with any feeding system, the risk of introducing weeds increases when feed is being imported from an offsite location. Weed monitoring plans can be tailored to the needs of your operation. This includes recognizing invasive species, evaluating your winter site selection and considering the forage sources you have available.

Verse of the day: April 2

Matthew 20:17-19

Jesus predicts his death a third time

"Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, 'We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day, he will be raised to life!'"

CN reports rail car movement has been steady

Over the last few weeks, we've seen grain shipments picking up in the Prairies.

CN's Assistant Vice-President of Grain David Przednowek says they saw fairly consistent grain movement for March with demand picking up.

"CN shipped over 530,000 tons of grain and processed grain products out of the country in grain week #34. That's slightly below supply chain targets, but very similar to the average of the past three years for that specific week."

Windy conditions cause concern for wildfires in Grande Prairie Forest area

Wind-driven springtime wildfires are of concern for the next several weeks in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

Warming weather and gusty wind is causing snow to melt and disappear quickly leaving areas of dry exposed grass. Fine fuels like dead grass will ignite easily and fire can spread quickly, even under light winds.

Wildfires can still start in cooler weather, especially in dry and windy conditions. Always use caution in forested areas.

Report wildfires by calling 310-FIRE (3473).
