1 Corinthians 10:13

Mother praises God after having both legs amputated following kidney stone surgery

A mother from Kentucky who recently lost both legs and is scheduled to have her hands amputated is praising God for saving her life.

In October, 41-year-old Lucinda Mullins went in for surgery to remove a kidney stone. A second stone remained, and a stent was put in to help it pass. A few days later, the stent was removed, and Mullins began to feel very ill.

Her husband rushed her back to the hospital, where they discovered that she was in septic shock. She was quickly transferred to another hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, where she could receive the care needed.

In the World, Not of It

1 John 2:15

If you want to stay clean, even when you're walking alone in the dark, low-ceilinged coal mine of the corrupt and secular culture, you need to remember a few practical things—four come to mind.

1. Pay close attention to what you look at.... Our eyes seem to be the closest connection to our minds.

2. Give greater thought to the consequences of sin than to its pleasures.... Nobody ever mentions the ugly underside of pleasurable sins.

PGA Golf champ Grayson Murray overcomes alcoholism, gives glory to God

"Jesus Christ is first and foremost," says PGA tour champion Grayson Murray in a live national TV interview, sharing how he got there.

The Sony Open took place in Honolulu, Hawaii, on January 14. Murray took the victory in the Open after sinking a 40-foot birdie putt.

"It's not easy," says Murray. "I wanted to give up a lot of times. Give up on myself, give up on the game of golf, and give up on life at times."

Murray went on to share how he's battled alcoholism and what finally set him free of the addiction eight months ago.

Philippians 2:14-16

"Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain."
