Volleyball visionary: Leigh Goldie inducted into Alberta Hall of Fame

Leigh Goldie, a founding member and current Board Director of the Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection, has been inducted into the Alberta Volleyball Hall of Fame.

As head coach of the Grande Prairie Regional Men's Volleyball team from 1975 to 1989, Goldie led the team to multiple provincial medals and earned three ACAC Coach of the Year awards.

He founded the Wolves Volleyball Club in 1984, growing it into one of Canada's most successful clubs, and served on Volleyball Alberta’s board for over thirty years.

Pakistani Christian sentenced to death for TikTok post, inciting riots in Jaranwala

In a controversial decision that has reignited debates over Pakistan's blasphemy laws, a young Christian has been sentenced to death for allegedly circulating a blasphemous social media post that incited riots in Jaranwala.

Special Judge Ziaullah Khan of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Sahiwal sentenced Ehsan Shan on Monday. The sentence also includes a 22-year prison sentence and a fine of Rs1 million (4,888 CAD).

Music has been a part of Toronto, Ont. native Jeremy Tozer's life since the day he could remember, even falling asleep under the piano at church where his father was a worship leader.
