Senator Patrick Brazeau collapses in chamber, staff say he appears to be recovering
Sen. Patrick Brazeau is said to be recovering after collapsing on the Senate floor on Wednesday in the midst of debate on the federal government's major projects bill.
Brazeau, 50, rose to speak shortly after 4 p.m. before falling over sideways onto the floor.
A Senate spokesman says Brazeau appears to be recovering following an examination by paramedics.

RESULTS: Dale Anderson Memorial Chore Team Comp. honours legacy
The first-ever Dale Anderson Memorial Chore Team Competition has its winners.
Seven teams competed in the event, which featured a series of chore-based challenges, similar to those that would have been done on the farm years ago with a horse team.
From the mailbox to the wagon, the competitors were first judged based on the chore team event itself, then in the 'feed scurry', which places a focus on speed.

Firefighters take to the pumps for Sask. Burn Fund in Swift Current
Swift Current residents have a chance to fill up their vehicles for a good cause on Thursday in Swift Current.
The Swift Current Fire Department will have firefighters on hand, helping pump gas and wash windshields, as they are raising money for the Saskatchewan Burn Fund.
Esso and Fas Gas stations will be accepting donations for the next month, but Thursday is the day when five cents from every litre sold will go directly to the burn fund.
Southwest man sentenced on impaired driving charges for hit & run
A southwest man will be spending the next couple of months behind bars after his recent sentencing on charges stemming from a hit-and-run this past fall.
Navdeep Saini was led into Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday morning by RCMP.
Saini pleaded guilty to two counts: operating a motor vehicle while impaired and fleeing the scene of a crash/failure to stop.
57's can't get bats going in Fort McMurray
The bats got quieted again as the Swift Current 57's fell on the road in WCBL action last night.
Jose Ayala went 2 for 3, but the 57's managed only 5 hits in a 6-0 loss to Fort McMurray.

Motorcyclist hit near Innovation Plex
Motorists are being advised of an incident on Chaplin Street East in the westbound lane.
A motorcycle and SUV have collided, blocking traffic.

Kiddies Day Parade brings smiles to Swift Current
Day one of Frontier Days on Wednesday included a classic event.
The annual Kiddies Day Parade sauntered its way through downtown Swift Current.
The annual event is a showcase of some of the sponsors that help bring Frontier Days to life, such as the Swift Current chapter of the Shrine Club. Former president Ron Heeg says there’s always a nice crowd every year, and kids always enjoy dressing up in costume.
RCMP and Fire Dept. deploy rope at cutbanks
Both the Swift Current Fire Department and the Municipal RCMP are on location near the Chinook Golf Course.
Currently, they are operating on the upper cutbanks, with any eye witness reporting the deployment of a rope down the cliff face.
No official confirmation has been provided, but the witness says they appear to be providing aid to an individual.

Local group offers tennis, soccer, & fun for all ages
A chance to stay active this summer in Swift Current has cropped up with camps and lessons geared toward a multitude of ages and a wide range of skills.
The Tennis Association of Swift Current is preparing for the summer camps to take place at Riverside Park in July and August, including Kids Tennis & Soccer Camps for two different age categories and Learn To Play Tennis lessons for adults.
Kimberly Hartwig, head coach for the Tennis Association of Swift Current, shared that the camps are a great way to introduce a new sport, get moving, and improve skills.
