Semi truck blocking westbound lane of Trans-Canada Highway
The Highway Hotline is reporting an incident on the Trans-Canada Highway near Herbert.
The incident is listed as a motor vehicle collision and is occupying the westbound lane. The lane is closed.
Comments stipulate that a semi-truck is partially blocking the lane. No report of injuries has made it to Swift Current Online.
Motorists heading that way should check the Highway Hotline for updates and detour information.
"An era of change" Bud Grohn shares on first week as Reeve of Weyburn RM
The RM of Weyburn No. 67 held its municipal election on November 13th where new Reeve, Bud Grohn was elected. Grohn reflects on election day saying he was prepared for any outcome.
“Win or lose, like, I was prepared to do whatever I had to do. If I lost, you lose and you just carry on.”
However, he still expresses his gratitude for his team during the campaign saying “I couldn't have done it without them.”

It's the beginning of the holiday season and the Alberta RCMP are reminding people to be cyber-safe.
With Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up, it's a busy time for online shopping, and the police are reminding Albertans to follow safe cyber practices while they are shopping online.
Numerous reports have found unauthorized use of credit card data occurs well after the incident has occurred, causing people to not realize they have been the victim of fraud until after the fact and they have received their credit card bill.

UPDATE: RCMP investigating suspicious death in RM of Rockwood
UPDATE:
RCMP officers from Forensic Identification Services, Search and Rescue, Major Crime Services and the Stonewall Detachment, with help from a forensic anthropology team, held an extensive ground search on the property located off of Highway 7 in the RM of Rockwood.
Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle they believe was removed from the property at some point in time in the last month. The vehicle is described as a gray 2007 Saturn Ion with Manitoba license plate HGL 773 (see photo above).

Teen girl missing from West End
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing 15-year-old girl.
Bostyn Laronde was last seen on November 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the West End area of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Laronde is described as 5’7” in height, thin build with black long hair and brown eyes.
Baby, It’s Cold Outside: The southeast gets a winter wake-up call
After the weekend weather system moves through, southeast Saskatchewan will experience much colder temperatures.
A high-pressure ridge moving in will bring temperatures into the mid-minus double digits. "High temperatures will be in the mid-minus double digits, with lows into the -15°C to -20°C range," said Stephen Berg, a meteorologist from Environment Canada. These temperatures are well below the typical range for this time of year, which normally sees highs of around -2°C.

Red Deer Public Schools promoted inclusivity among students by launching a program aimed at preventing bullying.
Kindergarten to Grade 5 students participated in the Walk away, Ignore, Talk it out, Seek help (WITS®) program in conjunction with Bullying Awareness Week (Nov. 18 to Nov. 22).
RDP brings back "The Nutcracker" for the holiday season

Saskatchewan expands access to life-changing cystic fibrosis drug
More cystic fibrosis (CF) patients in Saskatchewan now have access to Trikafta, a groundbreaking medication that improves lung function and quality of life.
As of November 15, the province has expanded coverage to include patients with 152 rare genetic mutations responsive to the drug. This change will extend eligibility to the majority of CF patients in Saskatchewan.
