Brooks RCMP seize over $35,000 during drug bust
Brooks RCMP has charged two women in a drug investigation following a heavy police presence on Thursday night.
RCMP mentioned in a news release that officers held a traffic stop and used two search warrants during the drug bust.
A 58-year-old and 37-year-old woman were charged with several offences including possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking.

Strathmore will see a huge dip down to minus double-digit temperatures this weekend.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, a sprinkling of flurries will begin on Saturday morning along with blowing snow in the afternoon.
By the evening, residents will see -22° hit the area with a 60 per cent chance of flurries.
On Sunday it will hover at -22° with a good chance of more snow hitting Strathmore.
Sunday night will get even colder with -27° temperatures.
That cold will stick around until Monday and into next week.
Strathmore youth crochet group seeing rise in popularity
A Strathmore teenager has put together a crochet group for fellow youth.
The club was created from the leadership class at Crowther Memorial Junior High School, which is taught by Lindsay Walker.
"This is the fifth year I've taught leadership," said Walker. "It's about giving kids opportunities to be leaders in whatever capacity is for them. It could be fundraising for something they care about, teaching somebody else something, or volunteering in the community."
"Whatever they do, my job is to support them."

White House says Trump's 25 per cent tariffs coming Saturday
President Donald Trump will implement 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian imports on Saturday as promised, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Friday.
"I was just with the president in the Oval Office and I can confirm that tomorrow, the Feb. 1 deadline that President Trump put in to place in a statement several weeks ago, continues," Leavitt said.
Leavitt denied a news report that said the devastating duties might be delayed until March.
Strathmore Special Olympian shares her inspiring journey
One Strathmore Special Olympian was helping to serve up smiles at the Tim Hortons drive-thru in Edgefield.
From dreams to gold, Emma Bittorf shared her passion for the sports she loves.
"I've been doing Special Olympics since I was about eight years old and it's a great organization because you get to meet friends," mentioned Bittorf.
She has won gold medals in figure skating and golf, along with bronze and silver medals in the sports.
Scott Silva to discuss Lakewood of Strathmore developments

Police crack down on drone-facilitated drug trafficking into Drumheller prison
RCMP has charged three people following a year-long drug trafficking investigation.
According to police, in November of 2023, staff at the Correctional Service of Canada in Drumheller told RCMP that they found a package with methamphetamine, cell phones, fentanyl, and nicotine patches.
RCMP were able to find a drone near the prison that they believe was used to smuggle drugs in.
Fog advisory issued near Chestermere
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a fog advisory for Rocky View County.
According to the group, areas of dense fog have developed around Calgary, including near Chestermere, Dalroy, and Dalemead.
"Low visibility in fog will continue through the morning," wrote ECCC. "Conditions are expected to improve later this afternoon."
Travel is expected to be hazardous as some areas bring near-zero visibility.
Although the fog has also appeared in Strathmore, a fog advisory was not issued for the area.
