Leave test strips for hail damaged crop assessments
Farmers are looking for some decent weather now with harvest activities underway across the Prairies.
Over the last few weeks, some areas have seen severe storm activity and hail damage.
The Canadian Crop Hail Association says from July 29th to August 11th over 1600 claims of crop damage were reported in the prairies with more than 75 per cent of those claims coming from farms in Alberta.

China accuses Canada of protectionism over 100% tariffs on electric vehicles
China on Tuesday accused Canada of protectionism after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government imposed a 100% tariff on imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles, matching U.S. duties on Chinese-made EVs.
Trudeau insists he still has what Canadians want, despite polling numbers
Liberals are having some "robust" conversations about the state of their party and its slump in popularity with voters but those talks cannot happen in public, Immigration Minister Marc Miller said Monday.
"The reality is we have to have these conversations behind closed doors," Miller said at the federal cabinet retreat in Halifax.

Strathmore Spartans lose preseason match to Catholic Central Cougars
The Strathmore Spartans held their first and only preseason game of the season over the weekend.
The football match was against the Catholic Central Cougars, based out of Lethbridge. The game was played at the Strathmore High School football field on Saturday afternoon.
Despite the heavy wind, the stands were packed with fans, friends, and family, with some residents even setting up lawn chairs to watch the game.
Canada to hit China with tariffs on electric vehicles, aluminum, steel
Canada is moving to match the United States with new tariffs on electric vehicles made in China in a bid to keep the cars from getting a significant foothold in the North American market.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau outlined the plan at the federal cabinet retreat in Halifax on Monday, promising to increase import taxes on Chinese-made EVs to 106.1 per cent on Oct. 1, up from 6.1 per cent.
Tariffs on Chinese-made steel and aluminum products will go to 25 per cent on Oct. 15, with a final list of which products will be affected expected Oct. 1.
Fraudulent tire scheme uncovered: southern Alberta authorities seek more victims
A man has been arrested following an investigation into fraudulent credit card purchases of tires.
According to a release from RCMP, members of the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit along with Lethbridge Police Service Property Crime Unit discovered that purchases of tires were made after six businesses in southern Alberta had phone or online orders of BF Goodrich K02 275/60/R20 tires.
RCMP said an order of eight to twelve tires were bought and a man picked them up in a U-Haul van the next day.
Intro to cricket event in Strathmore welcomes new players to the sport
A small group of cricket fans went to the Strathmore Motor Products Sports Centre on Saturday (Aug. 24) to take part in an intro to cricket program.
The objective of the event was to introduce non-cricket players to the sport.
Theunis Van Der Linde says cricket is gaining popularity in Canada, "This was a sport introduced by England in the 1800s and it's growing rapidly."
Van Der Linde says the setup included a brief background about cricket along with the rules and fundamentals.
