UPDATE: Four vehicle collision slowing down QEII traffic

A multi-vehicle collision was slowing down southbound QEII traffic, but has since been cleared.

Four vehicles were involved in the collision blocking the left-hand lane and shoulder right before the Balzac Overpass.

Crews are no longer on the scene.

Update: Airdrie motorists dealing with several collisions, stalls, delays despite dry roads

On Thursday morning, there were reports of emergency responders on the scene near 8 Street after the roundabout. It was unclear what occurred on the scene, but fire trucks, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and police were reported to be on the scene.

Update: Collision near Airdrie on QEII has traffic grinding to a halt

A morning collision southbound on the QEII approaching the Balzac Overpass has been cleared. Earlier this morning, traffic was heavily impacted.

Update: Serious collision shuts down portion of northbound Deerfoot Trail

A serious injury vehicle collision that had closed all lanes on northbound Deerfoot Trail between Memorial Drive East and 16 Avenue Northeast in Calgary has since bee cleared. 

Drivers were previously advised to use alternate routes to avoid the area.

Update: Collision on Stoney Trail causing delays for Airdrie commuters

A motor vehicle collision on Stoney Trail, westbound near Badlands Trail, has been cleared. 

Airdrie and area road conditions 

Road conditions in and around Airdrie have deteriorated as wet snow accumulates on area highways, and there are reports of vehicles in ditches on backroads. 

Update: Slushy surprise for Airdrie motorists may make for slower commute

Airdrie motorists can expect the wet snow to continue Tuesday morning, with up to two centimetres accumulating. Gusting winds may make commuting this morning slower than usual.

Although earlier Tuesday morning, the QEII towards Calgary city limits was reported to have good driving conditions, conditions are now being reported as partly covered in snow, with slush and icy sections, including icy wheel paths. Similarly, winter road conditions have been reported north of Airdrie on the QEII.

Several collisions reported on area highways on Friday morning have been cleared.
