There are reports of a motor vehicle collision heading Northbound on the QEII near Highway 566 approaching Cross Iron Drive.
The collision is blocking the left-hand lane, hence motorists should stay to the right and drive with caution. There is no word on injuries or if emergency crews are on the scene.
Road conditions continue to be slippery on the major roadways, with motorists reporting icy sections and packed ice and snow making for a difficult drive.
RCMP warn of poor driving conditions on highways
Late on Friday evening, the Airdrie RCMP said that Northbound lanes on Highway 2 at Township Road 285 near Crossfield had re-opened after a multi-vehicle collision involving a jack-knifed semi.
"Police advise highway driving conditions are very poor due to icy road conditions," RCMP said.
Calgary police have also warned motorists to exercise extreme caution on the roads, as they were responding to multiple collisions across Calgary on Friday.
Update: Jack-knifed semi reported near Crossfield
Late Friday evening, Airdrie RCMP confirmed that lanes were re-opened after a multi-vehicle collision near Crossfield.
A multi-vehicle collision on the QEII Highway, heading Northbound near Crossfield at Township Road 285 had shut down traffic for a few hours on Friday evening.
Eyewitnesses said that a jack-knifed semi is blocking the northbound lanes.
The RCMP has said that the injuries were unknown.
Earlier on Friday, over two dozen vehicles were involved in a collision East of Carstairs. One woman in her 80's was injured and taken to hospital.
30 cars involved in collision near Carstairs
Upwards of 30 vehicles were involved in a massive collision that occurred before noon on Friday.
Police said the incident occurred northbound on the QEII at the junction with Highway 581, east of Carstairs.
"One driver was transported by ground ambulance with unknown injuries," an RCMP release stated.
EMS confirmed to Discover Airdrie that the individual was a woman in her 80s, who sustained serious injuries. She was transported to a Calgary hospital.
Update: Road closure on Stoney Trail causing headache for motorists
The Northbound lanes of Stoney Trail between 16 Avenue N.E. and McKnight Boulevard N.E. have been re-opened.
Earlier on Friday there were reports of a multi-vehicle collision that closed down lanes.
Calgary police confirmed the collision occurred between three vehicles, including a semi-truck.
"The weather has created winter driving conditions. If you do not need to be on the roads today, we are recommending that you do not travel," the police stated.
Update: Police on scene of fatal collision on Deerfoot Trail
A fatal collision that occurred on Tuesday evening had closed all lanes of northbound Deerfoot Trail, between Peigan Trail Southeast. and Blackfoot Trail/17 Avenue Southeast.
Early on Wednesday morning, all lanes were re-opened.

Update: Fatality in multiple semi-truck collision near Chestermere
On Friday mid-morning, RCMP advised motorists that Strathmore RCMP are still on the scene of a fatal collision which occurred at 3 a.m. between three semi-trucks.
"The RCMP collision reconstructionist is on scene. The westbound lanes are still closed and are expected to be closed for another 3 hours. Please avoid the area," a police statement read.
As previously reported, one of the semi trucks was carrying a herbicide. Alberta Environment will be attending to clean this up.
RCMP identify victim of collision near Canmore
A 35-year-old Calgary resident was pronounced deceased at the scene of an early morning two-vehicle car collision near Canmore on Sunday, January 15.
"At 07:08 a.m., Canmore RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 1A, four kilometres South of Canmore. Upon arrival, one of the drivers, a 35-year-old male Calgary resident, was deceased," a police statement read.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 54-year-old male resident of Exshaw, was taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.
Update: Fog may impact Monday morning commute for Airdronians
On Tuesday, January 17, the fog advisory was lifted for Airdrie and the surrounding areas.
Earlier in the week, Airdrie had been placed under a fog advisory on Sunday evening.
"Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop," a statement from Environment and Climate Change Canada read.
Highways reopen after multiple collisions, closures
Highways have reopened in the area but drivers in northwestern Ontario are still being warned to stay home.
The Ministry of Transportation reported that Highway 17 was closed between the Ontario-Manitoba border and the Vermilion Bay area after multiple collisions this morning, but things have since reopened.
