Glenn Archie Bell

It is with sadness that the family of Glenn Archie Bell announce his passing away on June 26, 2024, at the age 80. Glenn was a roofer and he spent most of his time roofing in Swift Current and Moose Jaw, making many friends along the way. He truly enjoyed roofing and his little dog Alfie brought him great joy.

Glenn is predeceased by his parents, sisters Fay and Elsie and his best friend Beulah Tanaka. He will be sadly missed by his sister Mabel Brick, stepson Ted Robertson along with many other family members, friends and pet companion Alfie.

Bernice Olive Austin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernice Olive Austin. Mom passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024, surrounded by her family at the age of 101. She was born on August 2, 1922, to Annie and Horace Andrews in the Sweet Grass District in the RM of Caron, SK.

Pauline Christine Mah

Pauline Christine Mah, nee Chaykowski was born in Alvena, SK on June 29, 1924, the third child of ten children. At the age of 17, she left the family farm in Mildred, SK to seek work in Prince Albert. There she married Kim Mah, owner, with his father, of a large restaurant, the Airways Café.  Kim and Pauline had five children, Vivian (RIP), Vernon (RIP), Rose, James and Sandra.

Phyllis Grace Fysh (Dolmage)

Mrs. Phyllis Grace Fysh (Dolmage) - June 5, 1925 – June 11, 2024

Mrs. Phyllis Grace Fysh (Dolmage) age 99 of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.  Phyllis was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on June 5, 1925. Her family moved to North Battleford when she was five years old. After completing her high school, she went to Business school in Saskatoon to become a Tele-typist. Her first job was with CP Rail in Calgary, Alberta.  There she lived with her older sister Lauraine, brother-in-law Dave (Duchak) and their children, Gary and Donna. 

Barbara Ann Belisle

It is with sadness the family of Barbara Ann Belisle announce her passing on June 7, 2024, at the age of 76. Predeceased by her parents. She will be sadly missed by her son Bronson (Annie Doyle); daughter Jodine; grandchildren; brother Dennis and partner Brent McNevin. Barbara loved to be in her garden, she cared about others, and she especially loved spending time with family and friends.

A Celebration of Barb’s life will take place Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 1:00PM at the Eagles Club, 561 Home St., Moose Jaw.

Ella Miller

It is with sadness the family of Ella Miller announce her passing on June 5, 2024, at the age of 75. She will be sadly missed by her husband Ken as well as other family and many friends. A private family graveside service will take place. In living memory of Ella a memorial tree will be planted by W. J. Jones & Son.

Ernest Gideon Beston

Ernest Gideon Beston passed away in Moose Jaw, SK on May 30, 2024, at the age of 92.

 

He is survived by the love of his life, his partner for the past 35 years, Olive Stuehler; sisters Doris McVeigh and Juliette Messer; brother Ed Beston (Marian); adopted grandchildren, great grandchild and great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Ernie is predeceased by his sisters Phyllis Dorsh, Alice Bushko and Irene Black and brother Russell Beston.

 

Edward Joseph Cwynar

Edward Joseph Cwynar was born Feb 17, 1937 in the family’s home and raised on a farm in Glenavon, SK. Third born of 7 children.

 

He attended Campion College in Regina for grades 11 and 12. He enjoyed playing the guitar and his passion was the fiddle. One of his favourite memories recalled was playing in a band with his brothers.

 

Dorothea ( Dorie ) Ruth McKenzie

Dorothea (Dorie) Ruth McKenzie 

Dorie McKenzie (nee Single) of Moose Jaw passed away peacefully on Friday May 31, 2024, at the age of 97 with family at her side. Dorie lived independently in her own suite until March 2024, and she was in the Moose Jaw Special Care Home until her passing. 

Dorie is survived by her loving son Nelson who has lived in Moose Jaw as part of the Citizens All Association since 1975. She was predeceased by her loving husband Tom McKenzie in 2012.  

Carol Woolsey

In Loving Memory of Carol Woolsey, 85, who passed away on June 2, 2024. She was born on April 18, 1939, to Doris and Frank Dobson in Leask, Saskatchewan, the third of eight children. She worked for the RM of Leask for several years.  

Carol married Clinton Woolsey on August 7,1965 and after living in Waterous and Foam Lake, they settled on the farm in Penzance, Saskatchewan. There they raised three children. Carol and Clinton were active members of the community, contributing to the various events including sports days, theatre nights and curling bonspiels.
