St. Michael School principal fills new HR position at Holy Family RCSSD

The Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division recently announced a new position introduced to their operations, Superintendent of Human Resources. Current Principal of St. Michael School in Weyburn, Sabrina Gulka, has been appointed to the role.  

Director of Education with the Holy Family RCSSD, Ken Sampson, explains the role encompasses all levels of responsibilities related to human resources, which has been previously managed by various personnel across the division.

Weger comments on carbon levy pause, budget passing

Weyburn-Bengough MLA Mike Weger is celebrating the passage of the 2025–2026 provincial budget and what he calls a “major step forward” for Saskatchewan – the removal of all carbon taxes in the province, including for industrial emitters. 

Speaking following the budget’s approval last week, Weger said the process of debating and passing the budget marked a significant milestone for the legislative session. 

Road Warriors: Red Wings look to close out the series on the road in Game 6 against North Stars

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings are on the road once again for Game 6 of the SJHL playoff quarterfinals tonight against the Battlefords North Stars. The Red Wings lead the series 3-2, and have the chance to advance to the second round on the road against the North Stars. Besides the 4-3 win at Crescent Point Place on Game 1, the last 4 games have been won by the visiting team. A deviation from the normal that head coach and general manager, Cody Mapes, is fine with given the Red Wings success on the road.
