Search pauses for 1-month-old child missing in Laval, Que., river since Friday
The search for a one-month-old child missing in a Laval, Que., river has been paused overnight.
Police say the search will resume Sunday morning, two days after the vehicle in which the infant was travelling drove into a river in Laval, Que.
Earlier in the day Saturday, city police spokeswoman Erika Landry said provincial police divers and a helicopter joined the search, supplementing boats from the local fire department.

Dinosaurs, ghosts, superheroes, princesses and more were spotted in downtown Fort Saskatchewan.
On Saturday (Oct.29), Little Minion Events held its seventh annual Trunk or Treat.
Downtown was packed, with over 1,300 kids showing up for some candy.
The event was also used to collect food and cash donations for the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank.

The weather around this time of year can be unpredictable -- some years it's still in double digits, while others have significant snowfall.
For Trunk or Treat on Saturday (Oct. 29) between noon and 4 p.m., the temperature is forecasted to be between 7 to 9 C with a mix of sun and clouds.
Halloween night will be a little chillier for trick or treaters. Between 5 to 9 p.m. temperatures will be around the freezing point.
Sherwood Park resident finds stolen pigeon in yard
A Sherwood Park resident found something in their yard they weren't expecting -- a pigeon with white and pink feathers.
Leah Guderjan and her children were walking through their backyard last Wednesday (Oct. 26) to gather Halloween decorations when her oldest stumbled across the bird.
Guderjan was in disbelief when her daughter told her that the bird was white with pink feathers.

Sherwood Park player nets first NHL goal
Sherwood Park product, Kaiden Guhle, can now say he has scored a goal in the NHL.
The Montreal Canadiens defender scored his first career NHL goal in the third period of a game against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.
The goal was a thing of beauty as Guhle blasted home a one-timer passed, Sabres goaltender, Eric Comrie, to give Montreal a 2-1 lead. Fellow Canadiens defender, David Savard, got an assist on the play.
The Canadiens eventually won the game by a score of 3-2.
CCA part of the discussion around tackling food security
Representatives from the Canadian Cattle Association recently took part in the United Nations Committee on World Food Security Meetings (#CFS50) in Rome.
Jessica Radau, the CCA's Youth Leadership Coordinator took part in the meetings.
She says it was a global discussion on improving food systems on the planet. and working in a coordinated way toward ensuring food security and nutrition for all.

Time is running out for Alberta wheat and barley farmers to cast their vote on amalgamation.
A plebiscite is currently underway focusing on the formal amalgamation of the Alberta Barley and Alberta Wheat Commission.
Farmers, who have paid a levy on wheat or barley sales from January 1, 2020 to April 30, 2022, including farmers who have requested refunds are eligible to vote.
Farmers will have received a voting PIN in the mail to use when they cast their vote online or over the phone.
Voting is open until 12 noon on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
New poppy campaign initiatives seek to modernize the tradition of remembrance

The annual push to honour fallen soldiers officially launched on Friday and is set to run until Remembrance Day, and organizers say they're hopeful the features introduced this year will help re-engage Canadians in the act of paying tribute to veterans both past and present.
