The day features plenty of entertainment and events for residents to take part in.
Here is the schedule for Canada Day this year:
Fort Saskatchewan boat launch closes
The West River's Edge Boat Launch is closed until further notice.
After opening up in mid-April, the boat launch closed unexpectedly starting on June 21.
The closure is a result of high water levels and strong currents creating the potential for unsafe conditions.
The boat launch will re-open once the river returns to safer levels and flow.
Subsea search for missing Titanic submersible expands with remotely operated vehicles
The search intensified Thursday for a small submersible lost in the depths of the North Atlantic Ocean as the oxygen supply for the five people trapped inside the vessel was believed to be in its final hours.

Early on Monday (June 19), several vehicles and garages were entered by unknown suspects in downtown Fort Saskatchewan and the surrounding area.
Several surveillance images were sent to police, which show a man with light skin wearing a dark jacket and hat.

“This was a fantastic experience for the students,” said Pamela Brzezicki, a Grade 1 teacher at the school. “They asked an RCMP officer questions and shared their personal experiences with horses."
Faint hope as noise detected in search for sub near Titanic with time running out
An underwater noise detected by a Canadian military plane was giving added impetus to the desperate search Wednesday for five people missing in a submersible in a remote area of the Atlantic Ocean near the wreck of the Titanic.
The U.S. Coast Guard said an Aurora patrol aircraft picked up the sound, but officials added that it was unclear what it indicated.
The development offered a faint glimmer of hope as time became critical for the crew of the Titan, with less than a day's worth of air supply estimated to remain on the 6.4-metre vessel.
