In recommendation #82 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, all provinces and territories were urged to create monuments in each capital to memorialise the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit children who did not return home from federally-funded and church-run institutions.

St. André Bessette graduates take a walk down memory lane
Earlier this month, Grade 12 students from St. André Bessette did a "grad walk" to their old schools.
As per the school's tradition, the graduates visit their elementary and junior high schools to reminisce and reflect on how far they have come.
"I remember seeing the graduates do it when I was in school," explained graduate Abby Oloriz.
Oloriz estimates that about 60 students from SAB participated in the walk.

The Ravenwood Experience Music Festival is back as an in-person event this Saturday (Jun. 25). After its inaugural event in 2019, COVID-19 moved the festival to a virtual format for 2020 and 2021.

Beijing may have tried to discourage Canadians from voting Conservative: federal unit
A federal research unit detected what might be a Chinese Communist Party information operation that aimed to discourage Canadians of Chinese heritage from voting for the Conservatives in the last federal election.
The Sept. 13, 2021, analysis by Rapid Response Mechanism Canada, which tracks foreign interference, says researchers observed Communist Party media accounts on Chinese social media platform Douyin widely sharing a narrative that the Conservatives would all but sever diplomatic relations with Beijing.
Province extends fuel tax relief program
For another three months, Albertans will continue to save the 13-cent provincial fuel tax on every litre of gasoline or diesel they purchase.
The provincial government committed to evaluating the program quarterly and reinstating it in stages only if the average price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil fell below $90 per barrel.
For the four-week period ending June 15, WTI averaged $115.88 per barrel.

The Canada Border Services Agency recommended in March that Jaskirat Singh Sidhu be handed over to the Immigration and Refugee Board to decide if he should be deported back to India.
