Winners named in G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship
There was another strong field of candidates this year for the G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship.
Candidates applied for the scholarship by submitting a video essay describing their vision for the future of agriculture.
Overall six individuals were chosen with each winner receiving $4,000 with their high schools receiving $1,000 each.
G3 CEO Don Chapman says choosing only six winners from such an impressive field of applicants was not easy and we thank everyone who applied for their hard work.
Trudeau to travel to Rwanda, Germany and Madrid for world leader summits next week
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will embark on a round-the-world tour next week to meet with global leaders for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, G7 and NATO summits.
The Prime Minister's Office says he will endeavour to strengthen key international partnerships with an eye to defending peace, security, and human rights, and focusing on climate change, the economy and affordability.

Familiar faces such as the Kirby Dach (Chicago Blackhawks), Olen Zellweger (Anaheim Ducks), and others played in front of a sold-out crowd on Wednesday night (June 15).
"Game was high-paced. I didn't think it would be that fast but a lot of competitive guys out here," said Dach. "There was good support from the crowd and a lot of fun."

Miller's comments come after the Vatican announced last week the 85-year-old Pope would reschedule an upcoming trip to Africa to avoid interrupting therapy he is undergoing for his knee.
Police reveal date they'll start issuing fines for new speed limits
The adjustment period is over for the new speed limits in the city.
Fort Saskatchewan Municipal Enforcement Services and the RCMP will start issuing fines in the new areas as of Thursday (June 16).

Division looking for input as James Mowat Elementary faces enrollment pressures
Enrolment pressures are beginning to weigh on James Mowat Elementary School.
Elk Island Public Schools has hosted one in-person session already to hear feedback on how to address the growing number of students and will hold another one tomorrow (Jun. 16).
"Right now James Mowat Elementary has become over subscribed. We are increasing the school's capacity through the addition of a modular this year. However enrollment projections indicate that the school will again become over subscribed," said Brent Dragon, the planner for EIPS.
Local dealership notes a change in consumer habits amid high gas prices
Many consumers are rethinking their vehicle options due to the sky-high price at the pump.
Staff at South Fort Chevrolet say they’ve had an influx of customers looking to swap their gas-fueled vehicles for electric options, but a lack of inventory has caused some issues.
“That’s the issue with getting any vehicle, is that there’s almost no stock on anything,” explained Aaron McWhirter, social media manager at South Fort Chevrolet. “Especially with electric vehicles, the lead time is probably six months.”
Relief from the rain to come Friday before returning to gloomy weather
