Bisons head coach happy with stellar play this season

The Carstar Okotoks Bisons are currently tied for first place with an 11-3-0 in the Southern Division of the HJHL with the Medicine Hat Cubs during the 2024-2025 season.

Head coach of the Bisons Brad Cobb is happy with how the team has performed with a strong turnover from the previous years, though he still sees room to improve, which should be an exciting prospect for the Bisons fan base.

The Moose Jaw Warriors return to the Hangar this Friday night, where they’ll face the Lethbridge Hurricanes. 

Senior Boys volleyball quarterfinals last night, Cornerstone beat Briercrest 3 sets to none.

Senior Girls volleyball quarterfinals, Cornerstone beat Notre Dame 3 sets to none, and it was Peacock over Central 3 sets to 2. 

NHL last night, the Senators fell 5-1 against the Sabres, the Maple Leafs shutout the Bruins 4-0, the Flames took a 3-2 overtime win against the Canadiens, the Jets shutout Utah 3-0, and the Canucks scored a 5-1 win over the Ducks. 

Legionnaires rout Notre Dame

The Swift Current Home Hardware U18 AAA Legionnaires offence came alive early Tuesday night powering them past the visiting Notre Dame Hounds with ease.

Five goals in the opening frame for Swift Current helped them to cruise to a 7-3 victory at the InnovationPlex over the Hounds. Gull Lake's Sam Kirwan led the way for the Legionnaires in the win scoring a goal and adding two assists.

Sask Women's U18 team books quarterfinal spot in national championship

Team Saskatchewan defeated Alberta 5-2 in the final preliminary-round game at the 2024 National Women’s U18 Championship. 

Three players represent Weyburn on Team Sask, forward Addison Greve and Kiah Shields, and goaltender Amy Swayze.

They move on to the quarter-finals this Thursday.

Terriers deal three players to BC

The Portage Terriers have trimmed their roster, dealing three players to different BC squads.

The Terriers have dealt Forward Jonah Power Smith to the Pacific Junior Hockey League's Ridge Meadows Flames, Forward Reyd Langan to the Kootenay Internation Junior 'A' Hockey League's (KIJHL) Sicamous Eagles, and Goalie Jacob Armstrong to the KIJHL's Nelson Leafs. All three are 2006-born.

The Terriers will receive player development fees for all three players. The trio saw limited action with the Terriers this season.
