Foothills County's Thanksgiving forecast is something to be thankful for

Southern Alberta is in for an increasingly warm long weekend.

Foothills County has been enjoying daytime highs slightly above the norm for this time of year, and it looks like they won't be dipping down just yet.

Environment & Climate Change Canada Meteorologist Christy Climenhaga says the Thanksgiving long weekend will see the temperature slowly ramp up to well above the brisk conditions one would typically expect during fall.

The number of satellites orbiting our planet has grown massively in the last few years, leading to some concerns that they could start returning to the surface frequently and unpredictably.

Satellites have orbited Earth for almost 70 years, with the Soviet Union launching the first man-made satellite, known as Sputnik 1, into an elliptical low orbit on October 4, 1957.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are the two biggest seasons for turkey consumption,  but over the last few years, the industry has launched a campaign to broaden that reach.

New road trip tips for those travelling to U.S. over Thanksgiving long weekend

Turkey, stuffing, and road trips are in order for the upcoming Thanksgiving long weekend.

As long as you're not taking your turkey dinner over the border, and you have your travel documents handy, you should be good.

The Canada Border Services Agency sent out some reminders for those planning on travelling to the U.S. along with some regulations you need to be aware of.

First of all, don't take any 'homemade' turkey dinners or any food to any border crossing as you won't be allowed to cross over with it.
