The headliners for Country Thunder Saskatchewan were announced last night at a VIP event in Regina.
As Country Thunder Saskatchewan celebrates its 42nd year they will be "merging rock 'n' roll royalty with country music's top talent, the bold 2025 line-up bridges genres and generations."
Coming to the Craven Valley next summer will be GRAMMY-nominated, Multi-PLATINUM Entertainer Jason Aldean, 2024 CMA New Artist of the Year Nominee Bailey Zimmerman and Diamond-Certified rock legends Def Leppard.
Teachers return to work to rule sanctions on Monday
Province-wide job action is set to begin Monday after collective bargaining negotiations between the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) and the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee (GTBC) once again broke down.
According to the province, the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee proposed that both the STF and the GTBC could jointly request binding arbitration. The GTBC says the STF declined.
Sask. RCMP investigating homicide near Oxbow
One person is dead and two are in custody following an investigation that spanned many locations including the Oxbow landfill.
Carlyle RCMP were alerted on Wednesday, April 24 of a potential homicide. The case was quickly handed to the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit who started their investigation at the Oxbow landfill, where no human remains were found.
The following day around noon, the remains of a woman were located in a rural area of the RM of Moose Mountain, and her death was ruled a homicide.
RCMP do not believe that there are additional victims.

Negotiations between Teachers’ union and government fail, job action to resume Friday
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation says an impasse has been reached and as a result, the union will resume job action on Friday following a breakdown in negotiations with the province.
Friday’s job action includes a province-wide withdrawal of noon-hour supervision and one-day rotating strikes.
Swift Current area schools will not be affected by Friday’s one-day strike.
STF announces next round of strikes
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) has given 48-hour notice for their next strike action.
The most recent round of rotating strikes won’t affect Estevan area schools, but will impact 4,300 teachers and approximately 65,300 students in the province.
On Wednesday, February 7 the following teachers’ local associations will be on strike.

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) has given 48-hour notice for their next strike action.
The most recent round of rotating strikes won’t affect schools in southwest Saskatchewan, but will impact 4,300 teachers and approximately 65,300 students in the province.
On Wednesday, February 7 the following teachers’ local associations will be on strike.
