Wrecking journals and prize opportunities, the Altona Library is busy this month
The Altona branch of the South Central Regional Library is bustling with workshops, contests, nerf battles, take-home crafts, movie afternoons and more in the plans before March concludes.

As the days grow longer and the snow begins to melt, local photographer Jennifer Normand has been busy capturing the beauty of spring through her lens.
Normand is from New Bothwell but recently took a trip out to Sandilands in search of wildlife, and she wasn’t disappointed.
Nail trimming clinic supporting MJHS on Tuesday
The Spike and Friends Pet Services Inc. monthly nail trim clinic fundraiser is this Tuesday.
This will mark the third nail trim clinic of the year in support of the Moose Jaw Humane Society (MJHS), running from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. However, it will only be the second at Spike and Friends Pet Services Inc.'s new location, 441 Fairford Street West in Moose Jaw.
Mortlach ATV Derby returns for another day in the mud
The Mortlach ATV Derby is making its return!
On April 12, quads, side-by-sides, 4-wheelers and bikes will hit the mud, travelling around 50 km of coulees and farmland. The ride begins with a shotgun start at the Mortlach Rink, with a hot dog lunch provided at the halfway mark.
Lindsay Newsham is one of the organizers of the event. She says that proceeds are going towards the Mortlach Rec Board.

Every once in a while, the unexpected will happen right before your eyes. Typically, when you're cruising down a dirt road and you spot a coyote, they are on the move immediately. For whatever reason this one decided it was "friendly day" and decided to just sit and watch me, watching it.

As March comes to a close in Southeast Saskatchewan, we've been enjoying a decent start to spring with actual spring-like weather! This month, we've had an incredible variety of submissions for the March Perfect Pet Contest. Alongside the usual mix of playful puppies and curious kittens, we've also welcomed a charming goat and an adorable lamb into the competition.
