Yesterday, YOU, the community, came out and supported food banks all over the southeast by donating non-perishable items and cash for the Blow Away Hunger Food Drive! Southern Plains Co-op locations in Estevan, Carlyle and Oxbow participated in the 12-hour event that saw the community give to the less fortunate. 

The sidewalks were cleared, the roads were ready, and the weather cooperated on Thursday night for a fantastic Moonlight Madness and Santa Claus Parade experience. Hundreds of shoppers and sightseers lined Main Street and 9th Avenue for the parade.  

The holiday spirit is in full swing as Morden, MB, baker Jen Chapman leads a heartfelt fundraiser titled "Baking Spirits Bright" to benefit Ancla de Amor, an orphanage in Mexico. The initiative combines Chapman’s passion for baking with her deep connection to the ministry, which was founded by her brother, Brian.

"I’m just a home baker who loves to bake," says Chapman. "My brother and his family started Ancla de Amor, so it’s pretty near and dear to my heart. This bake sale felt like a way I could help."

In this episode of Feel Good Fridays, we went to Clearspring Centre to give away gift cards to Prairie Oils & Vinegars courtesy of the Steinbach Auto Dealers. We ran into a family in the parking lot and blessed them with a $50 gift card, and then they got to bless someone else!

Country 94.1 is partnering with the Swift Current Broncos to throw a legendary Country Night Friday at the rink.

From country music to cowboy hats and boots to giveaways and games - this is just a glimpse at the fun scheduled as the Broncos entertain their rival, the Regina Pats at the InnovationPlex.

"We'd love to see you out there," said Broncos Broadcast & Community Relations Manager Gino De Paoli. "Bring out your best western duds. We know it was a really well-attended game last year. This is the first of two country nights coming up here."

The Little Free Pantry at the Weyburn Public Library didn't get the influx expected during last week's Fall Book Sale event, the incentive for which was an entry into a WPL swag draw for anyone contributing a non-perishable food item.

Branch Manager Dawn Silver said the initiative, whether due to timing or excitement for the event, was a non-starter.

While the pantry isn't new, and until recently it had been seeing regular contributions for the past year.

Water Valley's glowing Christmas spirit will be front and centre this Saturday (Nov. 23) during their community association's annual vendors market, featuring activities for the whole family.

"There are 38 different vendors here on Saturday and they're going to sell all sorts of great things for Christmas," says Chair Dawn Lashmar. "Every year we have so many people coming out to join us."
