Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital Book Sale Returns

Moose Jaw’s Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital is about to get a little busier—and a lot more bookish. The Hospital Auxiliary is hosting its popular used book sale at the end of the month, and Joyce McIntyre says they’re more than ready.

“We have lots and lots of books, believe me. I don't know where they're all coming from, but we do have lots,” said Joyce McIntyre. “And it also includes jigsaw puzzles, of course. Penny parade, raffle.”

Postponed: Steinbach Pride brings community together

Updated 7am, Saturday, September 13th: The Steinbach Pride Board has decided to postpone today's event. On a social media post, it was indicated that " Due to untimely, urgent and unprecedented circumstances, the Steinbach Pride Board has made the difficult decision to postpone the Steinbach Pride March. This decision was not made lightly and was made taking everyone’s experiences and safety into account. Above all else, our community will always be put first. We’ll share updates as soon as we can.

MacGregor Fire Department hosts glow golf fundraiser

Chris Leckie, Fire Chief for the MacGregor Fire Department, says the Glow Golf fundraiser is set for September 20 at the MacGregor Golf Course. Registration begins at 7 p.m., with tee-off at 8 p.m.

“The night golf is happening on September 20th, and you have the MacGregor Golf Course, and it's a fundraiser for the MacGregor Fire Department,” says Leckie.

The department ran the event years ago before pausing it, then revived it last year with strong support.

'A lifelong dream come true': CHVN’s 25th Birthday Bash crowns a winner

Hundreds gathered at True North Square in downtown Winnipeg on Wednesday night to celebrate CHVN's 25th birthday with the highly anticipated Birthday Bash Grand Finale.

It was a perfect September evening, with the temperature sitting at 27°C when the party kicked off, and 120 qualifiers arrived with hopes of winning one of the incredible $10,000 prizes.

That’s why the BS Phishing Family are looking to make casts while the sun shines with their 3rd annual League Wind-up Fishing Tournament coming up Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th.  

16th GoGreen gets growing in Swift Current

The 16th annual GoGreen event will be taking over Swift Current this Friday, beautifying the community by planting an additional 463 trees, perennials, and shrubs across a dozen locations.

Local business, Stark & Marsh, has partnered with the City of Swift Current and Innovation Federal Credit Union for the one-day event, complete with a barbecue lunch, along with live music at Market Square. 

Daniel Johnson, chief executive officer for the Innovation Federal Credit Union, shared that this is Innovation Federal Credit Union's eighth year as an event partner.

Scouts hosting bottle drive, seeking new meeting space

The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Scouts are hosting a bottle drive this weekend! 

The Scouts will be going door-to-door on Saturday looking for recycling donations. They will also be set up at their space in the Town ‘N’ Country Mall between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. accepting drop-offs. 

The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Scouts are also in need of a new space to run their meetings.
