Free weekly Community Hot Lunch resumes tomorrow

The free Community Hot Lunch Program resumes tomorrow, Sept. 17 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the St. Andrew's United Church, 128 1 St E.

The popular weekly lunch offers a chance to enjoy a freshly made soup of your choice (there is always a vegan option) with a bun, sweet treat and refreshments.

There's also live music twice a month. To kick off the return of the program, the band Saucie will be performing tomorrow.

Fuel Good Day to support three community organizations: Tuesday

Three non-profits in the area could benefit from waiting until tomorrow to fill up their gas tanks, so anyone who happens to be low on fuel today, or could soon squeeze a bit more into their gas tank soon, may want to hold off until Fuel Good Day, which is happening tomorrow, September 17th at Prairie Sky Co-op's gas bars in Weyburn, Milestone, Lang, and Beaubier.

Local man gets provincial recognition for volunteerism

A Cochrane man has won an award from the province for his volunteer services throughout the Cochrane Community.

Paul Singh has been recognised by the Alberta Northern Lights Volunteer Program, for his support of local youth organisations and efforts to build a more welcoming community.

“I was thrilled that I got nominated for such a big award,” says Singh. “I wasn't aware that I was nominated, I'm honoured and I'm thankful to the people of Cochrane who nominated me and looking forward to keep continuing the work.”

The Scraps and FURRiends Flea Market is happening at the Town N Country Mall this weekend!

The open market is set to host over 30 vendors selling items such as baking, purses, Tupperware, and more, all in support community cats in Moose Jaw.

Scraps Moose Jaw is also in dire need of fosters. When becoming a foster, you provide a safe, loving environment for a cat, and Scraps will supply everything else you need.
