The Mennonite Heritage Village (MHV) is set to welcome a nostalgic addition to its historical Main Street this weekend as the Country Classics Car Club comes to the village for its annual car show.

Robert Goertzen, executive director of MHV, says the partnership is a natural fit.

"The car club is preserving history with these vehicles as well, so there's a lot of ways that we have similar goals," he says.

I was talking about daylight earlier today. For the first time in about 6 weeks, I had to turn a light on to see my keys and take them off the hook and lock the deadbolt on my way out of the house this morning. The days are getting shorter and that makes me sad.

An Airdrie woman’s backyard finch cam has officially gone live, and the timing couldn’t be better — the babies have hatched.

The livestream was launched after a successful push for followers on YouTube was reported by DiscoverAirdrie, which the organizer had to meet the platform’s subscriber requirements to allow live video. The creator Erica DeHeer shared her thanks to Airdrie residents. 

“Because of your amazing support, we reached the subscriber count needed to start livestreaming — and now, the finch nest cam is live!”

Alumni from Mennonite Collegiate Institute (MCI) in Gretna are taking the time to remember how their lives were changed after attending the high school that has since been closed. 

MCI offered Christian education for grades 9-12, along with room and board for students who didn't live nearby, since 1889. 

The Mitchell Junior Mustangs are swapping their hockey sticks for golf clubs next month, launching their first-ever fundraising golf tournament to help gear up for the season ahead. 

The Junior Mustangs Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, August 9 at the La Broquerie Golf Club and promises a day of laughs, competition, and plenty of chirping—on and off the green. 

Unlike the day itself, the celebration of life for Jake Epp was nothing but full of thanksgiving, appreciation and recognition to the man who had become known to many guests as, “our MP”, a fellow politician, friend, father, husband, family and to two in the crowd of 200 that gathered at Crossview Church on Tuesday, “Gampa” was what they affectionately called him.
