RCMP receive 147 total calls for service during Country Thunder 2024

Country Thunder 2024 marked a significant milestone for the famous festival, with this year seeing the One Millionth fan come through the gates. Both famous and infamous for its rowdy party scene, the weekend saw Saskatchewan RCMP officers respond to a total of 147 calls for service.

Calls for service attributed to the influx of people in the area were tracked between Wednesday, July 10 and Monday, July 15. The calls resulted in 33 people taken into custody and six charges laid under Canada's Criminal Code.

Blaze completely destroys Logan Ave. commercial building

A Logan Avenue building is a complete loss after a fire on Sunday evening.

At 5:51 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a single-storey commercial/industrial structure in the 800 block of Logan Avenue.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flames emanating from the structure. Due to the dangerous fire conditions, firefighters were unable to enter the building and launched a defensive fire attack. Handlines and aerial ladder trucks were used to apply water to the fire.

1 body recovered, search continues for other missing boaters

One man is confirmed drowned and police and search and rescue crews continue to look for two other missing boaters near the north basin of Lake Winnipeg.

The RCMP says that on June 28, 2024, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Grand Rapids RCMP responded to a report of missing boaters on Little Moose Lake near Grand Rapids.

Firefighters still on scene of 'significant' structure fire in Centennial neighbourhood

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to "two significant structure fires overnight," and are still on scene of one of them west of Main Street.

At 5:35 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey, multi-family residence in the 400 block of William Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure.
