With election day less than a week away, voters in the Cochrane area will have two opportunities tonight to hear from local candidates.
The Airdrie and Cochrane chambers of commerce are hosting a virtual forum at 7 p.m. for candidates running in the Airdrie-Cochrane riding. The event aims to give residents a chance to learn more about the candidates' platforms and priorities.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15 in Cochrane is inviting veterans and the community to come together on May 8 to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, the end of the Second World War in Europe in 1945.
The Legion will host a roast beef dinner followed by entertainment, offering a chance to honour those who served and reflect on the freedoms they helped secure.
Lane closures this week for utility and maintenance work
Drivers in Cochrane should prepare for temporary lane closures throughout the week due to utility inspections and maintenance work.
The Town of Cochrane announced on a Facebook post that from April 22 to 24, lanes on Centre Avenue and First Street East will be closed for underground utility inspections.
Businesses in the area will remain accessible during this time.

Skier critically injured in Banff Sunshine crash
A woman in her 20s was seriously injured in a ski accident at Banff Sunshine Village over the weekend.
The crash happened Sunday on a black diamond run at Lookout Mountain.
The 26-year-old skier from Sweden was reportedly traveling at high speed when she struck a snow roller and lost control.
Resort staff who witnessed the incident responded immediately, stabilizing her at the scene before transporting her to the base of the hill.
She was then flown by Stars Air Ambulance, in critical condition, to Foothills Hospital in Calgary.
