Humboldt Wildlife Federation antler measuring and turkey shoot on this Saturday
The Humboldt Wildlife Federation is hosting their annual Antler Measuring and Turkey Shoot on December 9th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Humboldt Motors Body Shop, 616 9th St.
Stop by and buy your 2024 memberships and Range use agreements. Also, there will be adult and youth activities. Turkey targets are available at many local businesses across the city.
Sights and sounds of the season at Museum and Gallery
Humboldt’s downtown welcomed the seasonal spirit once again with a pair of special visits on Saturday.
At the Humboldt and District Museum, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus dropped by for a visit to meet all the kids and find out all about their Christmas wishes. The Museum had colouring and craft activities for the kids as they waited their turn for a visit with the Jolly Old Elf. Both Santa and Mrs. Claus were in great spirits and happy to be back in Humboldt. They’ll be making return visits for the next few Saturdays.
Broncos open northern swing with a win against the Ice Wolves
The Humboldt Broncos got the first win on their northern swing as they defeated the La Ronge Ice Wolves 4-2 last night.
Travis Bryson opened up the scoring for the Broncos a little past the halfway mark of the first. La Ronge tied it up in the second, courtesy of Mason Bueckert.
Then Spencer Bell lit up the Mel Hegland Arena with the first of three goals, an unassisted effort coming in the last minute of the second period.

With snowfall now slowly appearing in Humboldt, the City of Humboldt has started planning regarding snow removal at Monday, November 27th’s meeting.

Hometown Market draws capacity crowds
The Christmas crowd was out in full force on Sunday as the Holiday Hometown Market made a return to the Humboldt Legion Hall. This year’s offerings were nothing short of amazing and crafters and artisans set up to display their ways and happy shoppers made their way through the aisles.
Music with Ian Elliot delight Festival of Wreaths visitors
The Festival of Wreaths continued this weekend, and Saturday patrons had an extra treat as Humboldt pianist and composer Ian Eliot stopped by to tickle the keys. While bidders browsed, they enjoyed the wide range of Elliot’s talents. From contemporary pieces to time honoured classics and even the challenging themes of Vince Guaraldi’s heralded soundtrack to “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” Ian covered the best with his own style.
Santa watch is on at the Humboldt and District Museum
'Tis the season for the jolly red elf to make appearances through communities in the area, and one of his regular stops will be the Humboldt and District Museum.
The Museum elves say that when Santa's in the house, you are welcome to take your own photograph with Santa inside the Museum. There is no official photographer, and no appointments are necessary.
Santa will be at the Museum Saturday afternoons from 1:30 – 4:00 pm on December 2, December 9, and December 16 as well as Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Saskatoon RCMP needs help locating missing 48 year old man
On November 16, 2023 Saskatoon RCMP received a report of a missing 48-year-old male, Michael Bradley.
Michael was last in touch with loved ones on November 15. Since he was reported missing, Saskatoon RCMP have been checking places Michael is known to visit and following up on information received. They are now asking members of the public to report information on Michael’s whereabouts.
RCMP investigate stolen "Hog" lights in Englefeld
Humboldt/ Lanigan RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in multiple thefts of decorative lights in the Town of Englefeld.
The thefts reportedly occurred sometime between the commencement of this year's “hog” fest in July 2023 and November 17, 2023.
RCMP believes that the thieves either used a ladder or an extendable pole to knock the lights down. Each light is custom-made and is owned by the Town of Englefeld.
Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP say this is still under investigation.
Broncos tough it out in close game with Red Wings
It was a high scoring and raucous affair in Weyburn, but the Humboldt Broncos found themselves back in the win column after the final horn. The Broncos took an 8-6 victory back home on Tuesday night.
