Opposition New Democrats blame government for failed teacher talks

The Opposition New Democrats are weighing in on the breakdown in talks between the province’s teacher negotiators and the Government-Trustee bargaining team.  

Yesterday, Official Opposition Education Critic Matt Love responded to the Sask. Party government’s failure to secure a fair deal for Saskatchewan teachers, resulting in an impasse with the potential for future job action.   

Carlton Trail College celebrates 50th anniversary with scholarship winners

Carlton Trail College celebrated 50 years of service alongside their annual student awards presentation at a special celebratory event held in Humboldt, SK on December 7, 2023. $79,900 in scholarships were distributed to 43 students in Carlton Trail College’s post-secondary programs of 12 weeks or longer.

In support of Carlton Trail College’s scholarship fund, two special announcements were also made on December 7, acknowledging the financial commitment of two of the College’s partners.

Grinch and the gang take over the Elizabeth

The bean-green not so meany and his pals checked into the Elizabeth for the afternoon on Sunday for the meet and greet.  

Dozens of kids and families lined up for a picture with the Grinch and a chance to meet Cindy Lou Who and long-suffering canine sidekick Max at the event. The Grinch was in fine form, and despite the gruff exterior, Grinchy welcomed everyone with a heart that grew several sizes with each child’s visit.
