Humboldt Theatre Club has a hit with two act comedy
The Community Gathering Place in Humboldt was buzzing with excitement over the weekend's performance of "Who Dunit and to Whom...a play within a play in two acts" performed by the Humboldt Theatre Club. The play had four performances, one on Friday, two Saturday, and a wrap up on Sunday. All four shows were well attended.
Water Security Agency plans enhancements to flood mapping
For key areas in the province, flooding continues to be a problem in some communities. The Water Security Agency (WSA) is working toward improving flood water management by enhancing mapping. The Flood Hazard Identification Mapping Program will receive a $2 million investment to enhance its efforts.
Applications open for BHP’s 2023 Jansen Project Scholarship Program
BHP and Carlton Trail College are teaming up once again to provide eligible students with scholarships through BHP’s 2023 Jansen Project Scholarship Program. Carlton Trail College administers the program on behalf of BHP. Applications for the scholarship program opened on May 1.
The scholarship program was created to support local students who are starting their journey through postsecondary education. Since 2012, BHP has awarded over $647,000 in scholarships to 249 student recipients.
Jr. Badminton season wraps up with District Championship
Congratulations heading out to the Jr. Badminton athletes who came through the competition at the HCAA District Championships held in Foam Lake on Thursday, May 4. The event wraps up the junior badminton season.

Fire bans issued in several municipalities
With the warm dry weather, several municipalities have put in place fire bans.
No open fires or fire pits are permitted in the RMs of Bayne, Hoodoo, Three Lakes, Fish Creek, and fires or fireworks are not permitted in the resort village of Manitou Beach.
The bans are in place until lifted by the affected municipality.
Humboldt Hitmen 15U girls volleyball captures provincial gold
It’s all gold smiles for the Humboldt Hitmen 15U volleyball team following their provincial championship top place finish this past weekend.
The event took place in Saskatoon on Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th. The Hitmen were seeded into division 3 with 25 teams competing. The Humboldt squad found itself pooled in with the other top four teams in the division in round robin play.

Wadena RCMP search for suspicious vehicle
The following alert comes from the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network:
The Wadena / Foam Lake RCMP is looking for information regarding a black F-250 regular cab pick-up truck with a white fuel slip tank in the box.
The truck has no running boards, and the slip tank has a red dangerous goods placard visible.
The truck was observed in the Margo/Tufnell area early in the morning on April 30.
The driver was a Caucasian male wearing white running shoes, blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up.
It's Showtime! The Humboldt Theatre Club hits the stage May 5th
The Humboldt Theatre Club is excited to announce their upcoming performance on May 5th, 6th, and 7th. This is a great opportunity to support local talent and enjoy a night out with friends and family. There are evening shows and matinees to choose from.

New Democrats select candidate for by-election
The upcoming by-election in Regina’s Coronation Park constituency has its New Democratic Party candidate. Small business owner and educator Noor Burki was nominated by NDP members in a contested nomination in the constituency on April 26.
