Manitoba auction marts put 12,179 animals through the auction ring last week, that's up from the 10,527 head marketed the previous week.
In Manitoba, feeder steer prices ranged from an average of $470.25 per cwt for the 401 to 500 lb weights to $288 per cwt for the 901 + category.
Feeder heifer prices ranged from an average of $390.53 per cwt for the 401 to 500 lb to $255.50 per cwt for the 901 + category.
In Saskatchewan, 7,777 Saskatchewan feeder cattle were marketed over the week ending March 1. That's well below the 9,153 feeder cattle marketed the previous week.
The latest cattle marketing report shows Saskatchewan steer prices ranged from $475.58 per cwt for the 400-500 lb weight category down to $322.43 per cwt for the 800-900 lb weights.
Feeder heifer prices ranged from $405.83 per cwt for the 400-500lb weight category to $293 per cwt for the 800+lb weight category.
On Monday, the Canfax price for Alberta fed steers 900+ ranged from $306 to $317 per cwt, while the 400-500 lb category $450 to $485 per cwt.
Feeder Heifers ranged from $288 to $306 per cwt for the 800-900 lb weights, while the 400-500 lb heifers ranged from $400 to $425.
Slaughter cow prices increased last week, in Manitoba D1-D2 cows averaged $132.28 per cwt with D3's averaging $115.20 per cwt.
