Farmers have had some decent harvest weather as they work on the harvest, with a few occasional showers moving through.
Manitoba's latest crop report shows 40 per cent of the provincial crop is in the bin. The winter cereal harvest is complete with producers wrapping up the peas. Harvest operations are underway with 79 per cent of the spring wheat in, 77 per cent of the barley, 63 per cent of the oats, and 18 per cent of the canola now complete. Central Manitoba leads the way in terms of harvest progress at 51 per cent, with the southwest furthest behind at 33 per cent. Some areas reported frost last week in the northwest, southwest, and in the southeast part of Central Manitoba with producers assessing the damage on some of the later seeded crops. Saskatchewan's latest crop report shows 23 percent of the provincial crop is in the bin. That number is expected to change when Thursday's crop report is released. The winter cereal and pulse harvest is complete. Harvest operations are underway with 79 per cent of the spring wheat in, 77 per cent of the barley, 63 per cent of the oats, and 18 per cent of the canola now complete. The southwest leads the way in terms of harvest progress at 39 per cent, with the west-central region furthest behind at 10 per cent. Alberta's latest crop report shows 22 per cent of the provincial crop has been harvested. That number is expected to change when Friday's crop report is released. So far, 26 per cent of the spring wheat is done, 29 per cent of the barley, 17 per cent of the oats, 3 per cent of the canola with 28 per cent swathed, and 77 per cent complete.
