Earlier this week, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced their results of an anti-discrimination investigation into Canada for imposing a 100% tariff on Chinese EVs, and 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum products last year. From this investigation, the State Council Tariff Commission announced retaliatory tariffs of an additional 100% on Canadian peas. Final chance to attend the free Come Try Lacrosse night tonight

The Weyburn Lacrosse Association is hosting their final Come Try Lacrosse night tonight at the Credit Union Sparks Centre. A perfect opportunity to introduce kids aged 3-17 to the sport of lacrosse.  

Kids aged 3-10 is from 6:30-7:30 P.M, females ages 3-17 from 7:30-8:15, and then finally ages 11-17 will be from 8:15-9:00 P.M. Staci Lebrecque, President of the Weyburn Lacrosse Association, says bring a helmet, gloves, shoes, and a good attitude.

The Weyburn Beavers are getting ready to host their Sports Dinner this weekend, featuring some pretty prominent names. On Saturday, March 15th, Toronto Blue Jays and Sportsnet Central analyst Jamie Campbell, alongside for Blue Jays pitcher John Axford will take the stage and set the stage for the upcoming 2025 baseball year for the Beavers. Reel in big prizes: Weyburn's 4th annual Fish Derby at Mainprize

The Weyburn Wildlife Federation is taking advantage of this warmer March weather with their 4th annual Fish Derby this Saturday, March 15th. Anglers from the southeast will converge at Mainprize Lake Saturday afternoon trying to catch the biggest Pike, Perch, or Walleye with prizes on the line. Weyburn Wildlife Federation’s Vice President, Troy Kincaid, is excited to take advantage of the nice weather and get some fishing in. 

Pangman Coin Club hosting first ever Coin and Collectible Show

At the Pangman School Gym, just 60 kilometers West of Weyburn on Highway 13, coins and other collectibles will be on full display at the Pangman Coin and Collectible Show and Sale. On Saturday, March 22nd from 10-3 P.M. there will be over 10 tables spanning a variety of different collectibles including coins, postcards, stamps, etc. Brad Neiszner, organizer of the Show and Sale, wanted to have a different event for people to enjoy. 

Red Wings fall in a matinee matchup against the Millionaires

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings ended up splitting the weekend home and home with a 5-1 loss on Saturday against the Melville Millionaires. Red Wings got on the board first in Saturday’s matinee matchup with Cyprus Smith-Davis capping off the pretty passing play from Liam Fitzgerald and Max Chakrabarti for his 15th goal of the season at 16:50 of the first period.
