Moose Jaw Events Centre Ice Ready For 2024-2025

The Moose Jaw Event Centre has laid down the ice for 2024 and 2025.

On July 31st the Moose Jaw Events Centre took to Facebook to announce that the rink was ready to go for the coming hockey and skating season. Work began on July 29th, with Ice techs from 15 wing, City of Swift Current, White City, Lumsden, Whitewood and the MJEC, taking part in arena operations training throughout the two-day process.

Moose Jaw Miller Express Presents 2024 Team Awards

As the Western Canadian Baseball League Playoffs loom, the Moose Jaw Miller Express celebrated their achievements from the 2024 regular season.

On Tuesday night, the Moose Jaw Miller Express held their annual awards night with players, billet families, volunteers, and board members. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening says Darryl Pisio, President Governer of the Moose Jaw Miller Express.

"I thought it was very successful. We said a big thank you to all the billet families and volunteers for all they have done for us and just had a fun enjoyable night," said Pisio.

Moose Jaw Hosts Next Gen Car Club's Highway 1 Touring Car Show

Most car shows feature older vehicles for the public to enjoy. However, the Next Gen Car Club has more modern approach to their shows.

On Sunday, August 11th, from 11 AM to 6 PM the Highway 1 Touring Car Show makes it stop inside the Town n' Country Mall at the old Sear's location. Jordan Myers, Marketing Coordinator with the Next Gen Car Club, pointed out that funds go towards show expenses and non-profits.

Western Development Museum: Blow Off Some Steam Event

If you need a day to get out of the house and blow off some steam, the Western Development Museum (WDM) has the event for you.

Coming up on Saturday, August 10th from 11 AM to 4 PM, the WDM is having their annual "Blow Off Some Steam" event. You can learn about how the railway in Canada was built and how steam engines operated back in the day. Events will be taking inside and outside.

To get in, it will only cost you general admission. If you'd like a ride on the K + S Shortline 101, individual rides are $7 and family passes (2 adults and 2 children) are $20.

PODCAST: Spike & AI Pays Visit to Golden West

Golden West Broadcasting Ltd. in Moose Jaw had some special visitors from overseas on Monday.

Spike & AI is an English program centered in Japan and every year a group of students from the course experience Canadian culture right here in Moose Jaw. This year, 19 students got to take part in numerous activities, including a tour of our facility here in Moose Jaw.
