'The reality is that I'm already His daughter': Jenessa Wait on faith and growing up in Winnipeg 

Normally Christian burnout happens to people who have been in ministry for decades. At 17 years old, that's where Winnipeg-born content creator Jenessa Wait found herself. 

Growing up in the church as a pastor's kid, she was used to being around Christian culture but focused more on performance-based Christianity.  

"I had such a zeal and a passion to show God I was devoted to Him," Wait shared.

Marika Siewert and Brian Doerksen have released a new single. 

The pair, who are friends in real life and collaborators as artists, songwriters and filmmakers, first met around 15 years ago. 

"We cast Markia in a vocal role for a musical we were writing and then recording all the soundtrack for, and she was just perfect for a role," said Doerksen. "Ever since then, we've tried to come up with a way we can collaborate and make our differences turn into a harmony that made it more than just two individual things."

Texas megachurch pastor, father of 4 fired over explicit texts to men

On Sunday the Austin Stone Community Church in Austin, TX announced that Aaron Ivey was fired from his church leadership position due to "inappropriate and explicit ongoing text messages with an adult male."

Ivey was not only the worship and creativity pastor at the Baptist church, he is also married to Jamie Ivey who is well known for her podcast The Happy Hour. The pair have four children including three that are adopted.

Everybody's come-to-faith moment looks different and for the Wave's Pastor Jerome Bonyoma, that is no exception.

"I'm originally from the Congo. I've been involved in church for many years in singing and doing other ministries. Then the Lord called me to full-time ministry in 2014," Bonyoma shared, mentioning his time as a pastor in Uganda, before ministering at the downtown Winnipeg church

Since giving his life to God in 1998, and then coming to Canada in 2019, his life has revolved around ministry and he remembers telling God, "I just want to serve You."

Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes gives God all the glory

In the aftermath of the Kansas City Chiefs' victory in the 2024 Super Bowl, quarterback Patrick Mahomes credited God and his teammates for their success.

Speaking to CBS on the field while ticker tape rained down on the game's MVP, Mahomes stated, "I just gotta give God the glory, man. He challenges us and makes us better."

The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime. 

His acknowledgment of faith underscored the significance of spirituality in his life and athletic achievements.

Stephanie Morales-Beaulieu grew up in a home filled with love and Jesus, but life took a turn when her father was diagnosed with a terminal illness. 

"He called me and said 'The doctor says I have ALS. It's fatal. There is no cure and I have 3 to 5 years.' The more I learned about it, the more I realized how bad it was."

Community responds to shooting at Joel Osteen's church

People around the world are sending prayers and condolences after a shooting at a megachurch in the USA on Sunday.

In between services at Houston's Lakewood Church, pastored by Joel Osteen, a woman armed with a rifle opened fire. Two off-duty police officers who were working as security returned fire, and killed the suspect. A child and an adult male were also injured.
