Poilievre pledges veterans' supports; Carney offers cheaper access to parks, museums
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre promised to cut red tape and step up support for veterans Saturday, while Liberal Leader Mark Carney pledged to make visiting national parks and museums more affordable for Canadian families.
Poilievre unveiled his party's plan for veterans during a press conference in Nepean, the suburban Ottawa community that contains the neighbouring ridings where he and Carney are running.
Carney did not have any public events scheduled. NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh's itinerary shows he will hold an evening event in Timmins, Ont.
Virtual forum to be held for Airdrie-Cochrane candidates
Voters in the Airdrie-Cochrane riding will have the opportunity to hear directly from federal candidates during a virtual forum on Tuesday, April 22. The event is being co-hosted by the Cochrane and Airdrie chambers of commerce.

"Respect each other’s views": Altona Police Chief addresses election sign vandalism
It's something Altona Police Chief Dan Defer says his department deals with every election.
On Thursday, the office received a report of two election signs being damaged, rather, noted Defer, they were driven over.
"There are those individuals out there that tend to go out and either remove or destroy election signs," he explained.
Defer noted, destroying, tampering or damaging election signs is an offence under the Federal Elections Act and says these incidents will be investigated by police.
