Sports Round-Up: Monday, April 15
It's all tied up at one win apiece going into game 3.
Not only did Denton Mateychuk score the winning goal but he assisted on 5 others as the Moose Jaw Warriors beat Swift Current 7-2 Saturday night, evening the 2nd round, Western Hockey League playoff series at one win each.
The Broncos took game 1 by the same 7-2 score Friday night.
Games 3 and 4 are in Swift Current tomorrow and Wednesday night.
Saskatoon Blades needed overtime to beat Red Deer 2-1 last night. The Blades with 2-0 lead in that series.
Sports Round-Up: Friday, April 12
Tonight is the start of Round 2 of Western Hockey League Playoffs between the Moose Jaw Warriors and the Swift Current Broncos. Games 1 and 2 are tonight and tomorrow at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
There are a few tickets remaining but, it's standing room only for both games! You can also catch all the action with the Voice of the Warriors, James Gallo on Country 100.
Defence lawyer stops bail hearing after client disrupts proceedings
A bail hearing in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Thursday was stopped and adjourned to the next day after the accused continually interrupted the proceedings.
Ryan Smallshaw appeared via telephone and was represented by Legal Aid lawyer Merv Shaw. During the proceedings, Crown prosecutor Suzanne Young was continually interrupted by Smallshaw while giving her submissions.

The Moose Jaw Warriors will be back on the ice tomorrow night for Round 2 of Western Hockey League playoffs, facing off against the Swift Current Broncos. Games 1 and 2 are Friday and Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre, with puck drop at 7 p.m. All Warriors playoff action with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo is on Country 100!
Tomorrow will see Round 2 underway for other teams, including the Red Deer Rebels and the Saskatoon Blades, the Kelowna Rockets and the Prince George Cougars, and the Everett Silvertips against the Portland Winterhawks
Sports Round-Up: Wednesday, April 10
The Moose Jaw Warriors are gearing up for Round 2 of WHL playoffs, with the first two games happening at the Moose Jaw Events Centre this Friday and Saturday night. The Warriors will face off against the Swift Current Broncos in the best-of-seven series.
Moose Jaw's Hillcrest Golf Club reminding all members - the annual general meeting is on tonight at the club at p.m. Among the items on the agenda is the proposed plan for a number of improvements to the golf course.

Round two of WHL playoffs start this week for the Moose Jaw Warriors. They'll be facing off against the Swift Current Broncos in a best-of-seven series. Games 1 and 2 are at the Moose Jaw Events Centre this Friday and Saturday. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. both days.
The other Eastern Conference semi-final will feature the Saskatoon Blades up against the Red Deer Rebels. That series also begins Friday night.
Chamber of Commerce begins ‘Senior Moose Jobs’ employment pairing pilot
The Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training to officially begin a pilot project especially aimed at connecting jobseekers 55 and up with potential employers.
Sports Round-Up: Friday, April 5
The Moose Jaw Warriors are heading to Round 2 of the WHL Playoffs after completing a first-round sweep of the Brandon Wheat Kings. The Warriors were 6-2 winners last night.
Goaltender Jackson Unger made 35 saves with goals coming from Rilen Kovacevic, Atley Calvert, Lynden Lakovic, Denton Mateychuk, Matthew Savoie, and Jagger Firkus.
The Warriors' opponent for Round 2 is yet to be decided, but the Warriors will be hosting Games 1 and 2 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
Judge warns that Kyle Peeace case must move forward
Kyle Peeace’s attempted murder case was adjourned for a couple of weeks during Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Wednesday, but it didn’t come with a warning from the judge.
Peeace’s attendance was waived for Wednesday. Brendan Ryan appeared via telephone on behalf of defence lawyer Nick Brown.
Crown stays charges against man accused of attempted murder
Crown prosecutors have halted proceedings against a man accused of taking part in an alleged home invasion.
Gill Perrault was scheduled to appear in court on April 3. However, the Crown brought the charges forward on Feb. 20 to give a written stay of proceedings.
