BERNARD

Yvonne Falcon Bernard (née: Anderson) left us to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025.  Born in Kingston, Jamaica, on December 24th, 1939, “Pinky,” as she was called by those closest to her in her early days, lost her mom before she was 2 years old.  However, she grew up under the care of a loving grandmother, “Mama,” and aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Later, she met her “Chinese” sisters and brother of whom she was very proud.

The Funeral Service for the late Kim Anderson of Shaunavon will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 2:00 p.m. from Salem Lutheran Church in Shaunavon with Pastor Logan Klassen and Pastor Joy Frenette officiating. Interment for the late Kim Anderson will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery at Shaunavon. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon is in charge of the arrangements. Wilma Unger, 89, of Landmark passed away Friday, March 21st at Bethesda Regional Health Centre. She is survived by 4 daughters and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur John Unger. 
A memorial service for Wilma Unger will be held Tuesday, March 25th at 2pm at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with burial at Prairie Rose EMC Cemetery.

Anna Sawatzky, 100, of Winnipeg passed away Friday, March 14th at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. She is survived by 3 daughters, 1 son, 1 sister, 1 brother, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. 
The funeral service for Anna Sawatzky will be held Wednesday, March 26th at 11am at Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield Street, with burial at Brookside Cemetery. 
Viewing will be at the church prior to the service. 

McLellan – Brock Lee, of Herbert, SK, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current with his family by his side.

Brock was born on July 7, 1959 at Flin Flon, MB. His family moved a lot when he was growing up as his dad worked for the railway. Some of the jobs Brock had throughout his life were autobody, welding, carpentry and working for the RM operating heavy machinery.

Frances Dirkzwager passed away March 19, 2025 in Swift Current.  A private family service will be held on March 29, 2025

Loving brother of the late Allan (Blanche), the late Bill (Colleen), the late Elaine (David) and many nieces and nephews.

HELEN MARIE KINGDON

January 17th, 1935 – March 13th, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Marie Kingdon, who left us on Thursday, March 13th, 2025, at the age of 90 years.  Born on January 17th, 1935, in Naicam, Saskatchewan, as the baby of her family, Helen’s life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and unwavering love. 

Joerg "Joe" Ernst Jonat

October 31, 1954- March 7, 2025

After a short, hard fought battle with cancer, Joerg "Joe " Ernst Jonat slipped away on March 7, 2025, surrounded by his dearest friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Dianne in 2024 and his parents. Joe is survived by his son Adam; his brother Harold (Dawn) and their family; lifelong friends Rick and Wendy and Dave and Trish and their families; dear friends John and Olive as well as many close neighborhood friends across this country and beyond.
