Trade mission to Europe could hold promise for southeast
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is off to Europe, leading a provincial trade mission to the United Kingdom and Germany. The mission, which runs from March 28 to April 3, includes a stop at Hannover Messe, the world’s leading industrial trade fair focused on innovation, technology, and advanced manufacturing. Premier Moe is also scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the London Stock Exchange to promote Saskatchewan’s most recent $1 billion USD bond issuance.
South Sask. non-profit makes headway towards new wildlife clinic
A southern Saskatchewan non-profit dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife is undertaking a mission to raise funds for the building of a new and much-needed wildlife rehabilitation clinic.
Last week, Salthaven West introduced a Matching Fundraiser, matching up $20,000 in donations until April 3, thanks to two anonymous donors.
Megan Lawrence, director of rehabilitation at Salthaven West, highlighted that after the campaign's initial announcement of matching up to $10,000, a second donor agreed to match another $10,000.
Estevan sees heavy snow miss as freezing rain falls over weekend
The weekend felt more like one in the middle of winter than the start of spring as freezing rain and temperatures dropped into the southeast. That was part of a larger system which brought snow to more northern areas of Saskatchewan, with the worst missing the southeast.

Estevan Bearcats win U13 A provincial title in weekend games
An Estevan team won big over the weekend as the U13 A Estevan Bearcats took home the banner and became provincial champions.
Originally, their opponents, the Martensville Marauders, held a leg up on the series with a win earlier in the month.
In game 2 of the series, the Bearcats beat the Marauders 4-3 to tie the series and bring the two to a winner-takes-all mini-game.
That game was set for ten minutes, with the Bearcats winning it 1-0 and securing the championship.
Estevan's curling season saw plenty of action and great results
The Estevan Curling Club has finished operations for their 2024-25 season, with a few events to wrap down the year. That was finalised on March 25th, when the ice was removed with just a few cleanups left.

Southeast Gold Wings secure first-ever provincials win
The u18 Southeast Apex Gold Wings have claimed the first provincial title in their history, after staging a comeback in Game three on the weekend.
Previously, the team had a rough start, losing to their opponents, the Warman Wildcats, 3-1 on Friday, March 21.
They managed to come back later in the weekend with a win on Sunday, March 23, 4-2, tying up the series.
The two teams then met yesterday to determine who would take home the title.
The Warman Wildcats came out strong, taking early lead with two goals in the first that went unanswered.
Redvers Rockets claim Senior D Provincial championship
The Redvers Rockets managed to split a weekend and claim a title as they were crowned the Senior D provincial champions on Sunday.
The weekend started off on a bad note on Saturday when the Rockets fell in their second game of the series against the Edam 3 Stars.
The Stars secured a 2-0 lead in the third period, before the Rockets managed to climb back out of the hole and tie the game up 2-2. Another goal by the Stars with just under five minutes left sealed the game 3-2 and tied up the series.
APAS says tariffs likely to impact agriculture sector especially with no budget tariff plan
Producers have most of their attention on the growing season ahead of them, but some eyes are turning to the recent provincial budget and seeing what's there for the sector.
One of those pairs of eyes is Chris Procyk, the Vice President of the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan.
