Provincial government to look at expanding acute care for Oxbow's Galloway Health Centre

The provincial government is promising that they will be taking a closer look at Oxbow's Galloway Health Centre following troubles with acute care.

Earlier this week a report from 650 CKOM and 980 CJME stated that while the town had the staffing and equipment needed to treat acute care patients, those needed to be treated in a hospital for more than 24 hours were instead sent to another facility where beds were allowed for acute care use, located at least an hour away.

TikTok files legal challenge of federal government's shutdown order

TikTok is challenging the federal government’s order to shut down its operations in Canada, claiming it will eliminate hundreds of jobs and potentially terminate a quarter of a million contracts that it has with Canadian advertising clients.

The Loewen family is facing a heartbreaking loss after a fire destroyed their home in Macoun on Sunday night. In response, the community has come together to support the family.

A social media post shared news of the fire, urging locals to help. "The Loewen family—Cody, Chantelle, Kensley, and Brexley—were devastated by a fire last night. As a close-knit community, we want to offer our support in any way we can," the post read. "We are urgently seeking clothing donations for the family."

Estevan Bears show resilience in narrow losses to Swift Current

The U18 AAA Estevan Bears had another tough weekend, rematching against the Swift Current Legionnaires and dropping both games. However, the Bears showed significant improvement compared to their previous matchup with the team.

Head coach Ryan Pilon said the team played well despite the losses.

“We’re going up against a tough opponent, and they played to their identity. They are a deep team, so for the most part, I thought we played really well,” Pilon said.
