Saskatchewan leads nation with lowest unemployment rate
Saskatchewan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in November was 5.6 per cent, well below the national average of 6.8 per cent, according to the latest labour force figures from Statistics Canada.
The province added 8,400 jobs year-over-year last month, with full-time employment rising by 5,900 positions, an increase of 1.2 per cent. Female employment grew by 4,600 jobs (1.7 per cent), while male employment was up 3,700 (1.2 per cent).
Carlyle’s Dickens Festival: A holiday tradition yule love
The town of Carlyle has been transformed into a festive wonderland this weekend as it hosts the annual Carlyle Dickens Festival, the only event of its kind in Canada and ranked among the top five worldwide.
Kicking things off this morning and running through the weekend, the festival promises an array of activities and entertainment to delight visitors of all ages. “We have a whole bunch of free entertainment all weekend long,” said Dawn Faber, a member of the festival committee.

Downtown Carnduff Christmas draws crowds for a night of festive cheer
Carnduff's downtown was filled with holiday cheer Thursday night as the community gathered for the annual Downtown Carnduff Christmas.
The event, designed to support local businesses, also offered residents a chance to get into the festive spirit.
“It was a good night, we had lots of people out, lots of kids in the street. There was a lot happening downtown,” said Tara Beck, with the Town of Carnduff. “Businesses jumped right on board and had some late-night shopping. It was a really fun event.”
Community member thankful for EPS and good samaritan's help in recovering lost wallet
A local woman is grateful after an Estevan Police Service member helped to get their lost wallet back to them earlier this week.
Kaye Humes was shopping earlier this week with her sister, and after being dropped off back home soon had a knock at the door.

Warm weekend bringing mixed precipitation, ice onto southeast roads
Winter is still ongoing in the southeast though it'd be easy to be mistaken with some of the weather coming up this weekend.
Those temperatures will move into the positives, achieving some melt of the snow that has piled up and the area may even see some rain instead of snow.

A year of giving, a future of health: Estevan’s community unites to bring MRI to life
In a remarkable year of giving, the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation is on track to bring an MRI machine to Estevan's hospital, thanks to nearly $4.5 million raised for the initiative. With strong community backing, including heartfelt donations inspired by local heroes like JC Ross, the foundation is pushing forward with its mission to enhance healthcare services for the region.
The foundation's MRI project, explained Lori Gervais, began in April and aims to bring MRI services to the hospital, with Elaine Walkom’s initial contribution starting things off.
Two charged in connection to death on White Bear First Nation
The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit has charged two men in connection with a suspicious death on White Bear First Nation earlier this week.
The RCMP have charged 22-year-old Jeremy Whitebear with second-degree murder and 26-year-old Dwayne Maxie with manslaughter in connection with the death of 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder. Lonethunder was found deceased in a home on White Bear First Nation early Tuesday morning.
