Gingerbread architects wanted for seventh annual Okotoks Gingerbread Station
The Okotoks Art Gallery's Gingerbread Station is making a return.
Registrations are open for the 2024 iteration of the event, which is in its seventh year.
Everyone is welcome, with a youth category for gingerbread architects up to age 15, and an adult category for ages 16+.
There are some rules to keep in mind, including entries being required to be made entirely of edible materials. That means plastic or wooden supports or props are not allowed, and entries cannot make use of electronics.
Repairs on track to lift water restrictions by this weekend
Progress is being made with the refilling of the Bearspaw South Feeder Main.
At today's City of Calgary water usage and repairs update, the city's Capital Priorities and Investment Director Francois Bouchart said everything is still on track.
"Based on progress to date, we are still on track to lift water restrictions sometime this weekend, we will continue to bring updates daily and let you know if anything changes over the next few days."
Steinbach administration provides storm report

Farmers anticipating challenging harvest following deluge of rain
A farmer from the Rural Municipality of Hanover says this week's rain is going to make for a very challenging harvest.
Lyle Peters is with Henervic Farms. He says about half of their land is located in the area around Randolph and Mitchell, with the other half down south near Pansy and St. Malo. According to Peters, their land near Randolph received more than seven inches of rain this week, while their fields down south had between 2.5 and four inches of rain.
"It's funny that it feels really good to say we only had 2.5 inches in some areas," says Peters.
Back to school: tips from local pharmacist to keep kids healthy this season
It's been over two weeks since kids packed up their books and headed back to school in Strathmore.
Molly Jarvis, a pharmacist and pharmacy manager at Mint Health and Drugs in Langdon says the best way to keep your kids safe from sickness while they go to school is to have them wash their hands and social distance.
"Same thing at home. If your kid's showing signs of being sick keep them home if we can and that stops the spread as quickly as we can."

Over 80 walkers strutted through Red Deer’s downtown in high heels for the 23rd annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.
