A strong season for the U19 Killarney Lakers was capped off by claiming provincial bronze, something that coach Keith McIntyre says it was a great way to wrap up the year.

"It feels great," McIntyre says proudly. "The girls worked really, really hard all year. They maybe didn't get gold or silver, but it's always nice to come home with a medal."

The U13 AAA provincials start today in Friedensfeld, and the coach of the U13 Eastman Wildcats, Jason Plett, says the group is poised to do something special.

Hosting the provincials is a real point of pride for Plett and the team. "It means a lot," he says proudly. "It's lots of fun for the girls to play in front of family and friends, when it's close to home, you get a few more of those coming out, especially on summer holidays. We start today, we're expecting nice weather and we're hoping to have lots of fans out."

The U13 Central Energy have had a terrific season and coach Jenn Smith is looking to bring the things that have made the group successful into the provincials starting today.

Golfers from the southwest are right in the mix after two rounds of the Saskatchewan Amateur Championships at the Humboldt Golf Club.

Kyle's Chloe Wills has led after both the first and second rounds of the Sask Women's Aamateur. 

Wills shot a 3-under par 70 on Tuesday and 1-over 73 on Wednesday.

She's two shots ahead of Yorkton's Ella Kozak heading into Thursday's final round.

A busy week continues for the Swift Current Kal Tire 18U AAA 57's.

They lost 21-9 and 7-2 in a doubleheader against the Saskatoon Diamondbacks yesterday.

Mason Fauser went 2 for 3 with a home run for Swift Current in the 21-9 loss.

Kyrell Adair was 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

The 18U AAA 57's were held to only 3 hits in the 7-2 loss.

They're right back to work tonight with a doubleheader against the Z7 Sundevils. 

A split on the road for the Swift Current 57's.

They won 2-1 and fell 6-1 in a doubleheader against Weyburn. 

Trigg Mapes drove in 2 runs with a base hit in the top of the 4th inning as the 57's pulled ahead in the first game.

Jaylen Gutierrez allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 5 innings to earn the win on the mound for Swift Current.

The 57's then scattered 7 hits but left 7 runners on base in the second half of the doubleheader.

Brayden Mayencourt's home run was the difference in a 6-1 Beavers win.

The second day of the 2025 Saskatchewan Amateur Golf Championships brought more top-tier golf to the Humboldt Golf Club, as the women wrapped up their second round and the men continued their push. With players navigating one of the province’s more distinctive layouts, the course once again proved both challenging and rewarding. 

Humboldt Golf Club Vice President Dave Hill noted that the club’s unique layout is playing a significant role in shaping the leaderboard. 

The Swift Current Kale Tire 18U AAA 57's fell 15-4 to the White Butte Broncos last night.

Wesley Olson went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs for Swift Current in a losing cause.

They've now dropped four of their last five games.

Swift Current hosts the Saskatoon Diamondbacks for a doubleheader tonight.

Meanwhile, the Argue Law 15U AAA 57's are in Saskatoon to play the Astros.

The Swift Current 57's head on the road for the start of four straight WCBL games against Weyburn.

It begins with a doubleheader between the two clubs from Tom Laing Park tonight.

They then play another game in Weyburn tomorrow before the 57's host the Beavers on Friday.

Weyburn is a game and a half ahead of Swift Current for 5th in the East Division. 

The 57's are looking to snap a five-game losing skid.

A pair of southwest Saskatchewan players jumped into the lead in the Saskatchewan Amateur Championship at the Humboldt Golf Club.

Kyle's Chloe Wills opened the 54-hole tournament yesterday by shooting 3-under. 

She finished the first day four shots ahead of Yorkton's Ella Kozak.

Swift Current's Corey Bailey leads the men's championship after shooting an 8-under 64 yesterday.

The second day of the event is underway.
