UNDERWAY: Provincial Seniors Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships

The Weyburn Curling Club this weekend is hosting the Provincial Seniors Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships.

The event kicked off this morning, and will conclude on Sunday. Six women's teams and 11 men's teams are taking part in the 'Senior Playdowns'.

Canadian Curling Club Championships coming to iconic Winnipeg curling club

A Winnipeg iconic curling facility is the host to the 2025 Canadian Curling Club Championships in November. 

Curling Canada made the announcement on Thursday that Winnipeg’s Granite Curling Club, with 110 years of history, which is also known as The Mother Club for Curling in Winnipeg will host the Championships from Nov. 18 to 23. 

Wood River takes lead in SSHL U15 championship

In the Southwest Sask Hockey League U15 Division, Wood River beat Cabri 6-2 in Game 1 of their championship series.

The best-of-three continues Friday night in Cabri as the Bulldogs need a win to force Game 3.

Wood River finished three points ahead of Cabri in the SSHL regular season standings.

This is the final series left in the SSHL season.

Hi-Way 14 U13 Championship decided tonight

There will be a champion in the Hi-Way 14 Hockey League U13 Division tonight.

Elrose hosts Eatonia/Fox Valley tonight after dropping the first game of the series 4-3 on Tuesday.

The River Kings could claim the championship with a victory.

If Elrose wins, they could force a deciding ten-minute mini-game to determine a champion.

Puck drop is 6:30 PM at the Elrose Uniplex.

Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League accepting expansion applications

The Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League (SJFHL) are welcoming communities to submit proposals for expansion to the Under-22 Female Hockey League.  

With six teams currently in the league, the Hockey Saskatchewan Board of Directors and the Board of Directors of the Saskatchewan Junior Female Hockey League are asking for interested communities to submit their proposals to join the league for the fall of 2025.  

Application deadline April 30th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.  

Players share HOOPLA experience

Three Moose Jaw teams took part in the HOOPLA provincial tournament in Saskatoon last weekend.

The Central Collegiate Cyclones boys 4A basketball team is once again provincial champions. The Cyclones defeated Regina Johnson 70-55 on Saturday night at Hoopla in Saskatoon. Chase Seaborn and Gerritt Gulutzan each had 17 points in the championship game as we had them join us in studio.

Broncos pull off overtime magic again: series now 2-2 with Bombers

The fans got their money's worth this week at the Elgar Petersen Arena. For the second straight night, the Humboldt Broncos defeated the Flin Flon Bombers in overtime 4-3.  

Kye Benoche was the overtime hero this time, pouncing on a loose rebound, to even up the best of seven series at 2-2.
