Wolverines split games on Saturday
A doubleheader on Saturday resulted in the first win of the season for the Swift Current Wolverines.
Grady Henderson scored six goals as Swift Current beat the Saskatoon Swat 16-5 on Saturday afternoon.
Riley Schafer and Isaac Froese each had hat tricks in the win.
It was Swift Current's first victory of the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League junior season.
The Wolverines then fell 16-7 to the Prince Albert Predators on Saturday night.

The Saskatchewan Selects Football Club will be hosting a skills development camp for players and coaches in Weyburn on May 16th from 5 to 9 p.m. on the Weyburn Minor Football Field.

Cochrane’s Ethan Neutens and Kaden McCann contributed to the scoring in the Medicine Hat Tigers’ win in the opening game of the WHL championship.
The Tigers limited the Spokane Chiefs to a powerplay goal in a 4–1 win Friday in front of a packed house at Co-op Place in Medicine Hat.
Neutens scored the Tigers’ third goal early in the third period, assisted by McCann and Misha Volotovskii.
Spokane outshot the Tigers 37–22, but Chiefs head coach Brad Lauer believes his team’s mistakes cost the young squad.

Strathmore Spartans rugby gear up for tournament in Medicine Hat
The Strathmore Spartans senior boys' rugby team are heading to Medicine Hat on Saturday, May 10.
The event is a 7's tournament, with the team spending the entire day playing games in Medicine Hat.
Following the tournament, the team will be playing on May 12 in Okotoks before returning to Strathmore on May 21.
After their last home game, the Spartans will be playing in zone finals before moving onto provincials.

Hellebuyck answers MVP chants with playoff shutout
The Winnipeg Jets responded with urgency in Game 2 of their second-round playoff series, taking an early lead and maintaining control throughout a 4–0 win over the Dallas Stars to even the series at one game apiece.
The Jets played much more like the Jets of the regular season, and that goes for Connor Hellebuyck as well. He would end up stopping 21 shots on his way to a shutout. It's his fourth playoff shutout of his career, and his first since 2021. Hellebuyck now has a record of 18-1-1 in the last 20 home games.

The 2025 WHL Prospects Draft took place this past week, as the Regina Pats selected phenom and hometown boy Maddox Schultz with the first overall pick. The league used Wednesday for the first round and then completed the draft Thursday with rounds 2-15, taking place after an expansion draft for the new franchise out of Penticton and U.S Priority Draft.
Saskatchewan Roughriders training camp roster outlook
It was a Riderville revival last year as Head Coach Corey Mace was able to inject a cultural change, leading the Roughriders to a second-place finish in the West with a 9-8-1 record along with a home playoff game.
